Default Internet on G1

Hi,

I've purchased locked G1 and arranged to unlock so i can use sim card other than Tmobile.

I wanted to use internet on G1 but when i setup APN i didn't find any dialup number which as per network carrier is mandatory.

I dig internet to find solution but have not found anything related to this issue.

Can anyone please help me out?

Thanks in advance

Imran

Other than using WIFI, you still need a data plan from the phone company that you will be using and of course their APN and other settings.

So call CS of the company you are using.

If you are in the UK, I could give you a site that would save you the effort of having to call them....

I'm trying to find a similar website for the US carriers..but only found T-Mobile so far...

i had tried all these things not worked.

today, i visited waridtel business center.
they taken approx 3 hrs to try all things and ultimately "E" on top bar has come - i think E represents for edge technology.

now i can access Market but can't browse websites.
they said since its for T-Mobile actually, browser settings are set for T-Mobile only.

interesting thing is that they said approx 10 people has come for internet setting and this is the only set, we hv done otherwise just tryings and nothing.

now i'll research for browser configuration

when i'll done all, G2 will be arrived with new features.

you pretty much have the whole thing down except for a few things. heres what i have.

Name: Warid Internet
APN: Warid
Proxy: 000.000.000.000
Port: 8080

Server: Not set
mms proxy:: 010.004.002.001

internet works fine. i have a jailbroken g1 cupcake mod by JF in mine, but it worked with these setting before modding. a few things though, for some reason the browser is not working and also the google messenger for msn etc other than gtalk. for browser you can get steel or opera mini from marketplace and there are many software for msn.i use hi msn. if u need any more help just say so.and if ur interested id love to exchange numbers.you are like the only person i currently know with a gphone in pak.
