Hi I'm thinking of selling my G1 on.


Just wondering how I go about removing my personal info from the phone, ie name and card details etc.

For obvious reasons!

If possible I'd like to leave any apps on there but if it's not easily possible then I'm not fussed.

I believe you can just do a factory reset

Menu>settings>SD Card & Phone Storage>Factory Reset Data

Factory Reset removes Apps that were downloaded from the Market or third parties ...

The would be avialble again only if the phone is reinitialized with the same gmail account

I'm not too fussed on keeping the apps then. I just want to make sure my personal details are removed from the phone.

Will a factory reset accomplish this?

I don't want to sell it on to find the new owner had been using my bank details to by apps or worse etc!

I am positive the Factory Reset will clear your contacts ..... And would only resync them if you re-register the phone to your gmail account ...

So to me sure ... Create a Dummy Empty Gmail Email account with no contacts ...

Factory reset the phone ...

Register it to the dummy gmail acount .... and check the Contacts ... SHOULD Be Empty ...
