Change startup programs

Hi,
There are tons of apps that start when I first start my phone for no reason at all. Is there any way to change this?

Edit: this didn't make any sense. I was really tired. I think it makes sense now..

hmmmm...that's something I'd like to know. When I start my phone (Galaxy), tons of apps are started with no or little reason, eating ram resources. Once I kill them all, there are aproximately 49M of free ram. I don't usually power off my device, so this is not something that I need to do on a daily basis, but anyway, it's annoying, or at least it annoys me.
