Default E-Mail retrieval over WIFI issue........

just letting you guys if anyone else is having this issue, but i have found that you cannot retrieve e-mails (not gmail, but yahoo) on WI-FI, i set it to both retrive every 5mins, and i set it to "never" receive. and i will get a "connection error" but once i turn off my WIFI it will retrieve my yahoo with no issues. anyone else out their having this issue? Google mail is fine though.......

it doesnt work

i think its going through a different network, so its not able to.

3g works fine alone, though does not give me every email up to date.

Yeah, it does not work over wifi, when you first set up your yahoo account it does tell you that free yahoo email accounts only work on the T-Mobile network or something like that. Don't know why it doesn't allow it on wifi though.

Your can't retrieve yahoo mail from wifi because yahoo does not support pop email for free.
you have to purchase a premiem yahoo email to do that.
however yahoo does let you get your email through the t-mobile network(probobly some other networks too for free)

if you want to get your yahoo mail over wifi you need to go to the yahoo.com website in your browser.

or if your willing to pay for it, you can set it up to let you from your yahoo mail options

I'm late to the party but if you copy the settings over from your Gmail account settingsto your yahoo account in the email map it works over wifi...

For instance:
In the yahoo incoming settings I had the following(mimicking my Gmail settings)
Imap.mail.yahoo.com(for the Imap server)
993(port number)
SSL security

Out going would be
Smtp.mail.yahoo.com(Smtp address)
465(port number)
SSL security...

You should've had it on your data connection to set it up but if you do this or mimic your Gmail account settings it'll work over wifi...

Default Yahoo parameters for maildroid 2.22

Thanks to email from maildroid support, I got the following to work for free yahoo email over wifi. This is on a Pandigital novel tablet Android 2.2.
Get into maildroid email setup.
Enter full email id and password.
Then do manual setup and chose IMAP
Incoming server = android.imap.mail.yahoo.com, SSL, port 993
Outgoing server = android.smtp.mail.yahoo.com, SSL, port 465
Notes: user id same as full email, you will have to change outgoing port to 465.
If it works, maildroid will display the release notes.
Thanks maildroid support for the quick reply.
Hope my query is the last one you get about wifi free yahoo email.
