im currently rooted with virtuous 1.0.2
and i have HORRIBLE reception around ANYWHERE in San Antonio, TX.
im told radio's can fix your reception issue.
any ideas or opinions?

Radio update .zip flash through Hboot.

Start there, do a lot of reading before you flash radios, it can brick your phone. Make sure you flash with a FULL battery. Right now I'm on the .30 radio from the gb leak. It works well.

what radio do you think would work best with the ROM im on?

I would try the .27 radio, and the .30 radio. Try them for about a day each and see what seems to work better for you. I ran the .27 for about a week and it worked well but my cell standby was eating battery like crazy, I am on the .30 right now and it works well with out the battery impact. But as always YMMV.
