Thumbs up It's Been Rooted!

Was there ever really a doubt that the insane geniuses over at XDA would figure this out. I'm glad we can hit the ground running on this.

For those that are looking forward to custom ROM's you'll have to be a bit patient until there's a custom recovery out, however those of us that just need straight root because we're migrating from another device, well, git er done!

Near as I can tell, not exactly. However, my recent experience w/ Mac's, newer ones anyway, you can use whatever Windows emulator Mac's use and I hear it works well with damn near anything thrown at it.

OP works! literally the fastest rooting process i've ever experienced.
and for those people with macs...i doubt u can't find some pc you can access for like 5 minutes. it literally takes 2 minutes if u've read the instructions and use a good machine.

Fast isn't even the word for it. It took longer for me to write that post then it did to root this phone. God, I didn't realize how much I missed vanilla Android phones.

yeah...i literally sat in my chair longer with my mouth wide open than the time it took to root the thing. coming from a hero and an updated mt4g...this phone almost made me feel bad cause i spent 0 effort. haha.

So, I have to buy an emulator and a copy of windows just to root my phone?
That sucks.

a copy of windows maybe slightly more difficult to get, but if u are just looking for a virtual machine try virtual box. it's free from oracle. I use it all the time.

Another thing, the two files you need to do this are tiny. I'm sure you know someone willing to let you borrow their windows computer/laptop/tablet/whatever for 90 seconds. (It'll take longer to download the files). Good luck.
