Cheer up Galaxy mini users ,you have a gingerbread firmware.Head to samfirmware and catch it.

it's a european firmware. will it matter if my galaxy mini has an asian firmware?

Well you cant buy paid market apps .That said I have been running european firmware for long time in India with no hassles till the old Indian firmware was uploaded.Of course if anything does happen to your phone I am not responsible.
EDIT : If mini uses four file flash and if your original firmware is listed .
Download both firmwares .Uses CSC of Asian firmware and pda,phone,boot of gingerbread .Win-Win for everyone.Thats what I did after my firmware was listed.

..when will Samsung roll out official Gingerbread for Galaxy Mini (MidEast region) ? So it can be easily upgraded thru Samsung KEIS! Anyidea?

I'm waiting for the same thing(for European version)...I did read somewhere that Gingerbread is now available in KIES in Nordic countries ?!!? Is it true ? I have Mac so I have to use my friend's PC to upgrade when it comes out...And I that's why I can't check now if it's out on KIES...Does anyone know ? thanks !

Then i can tell you that I'm from Sweden, one of the Nordic countries, and I can't update my Mini yet. Anyone who can?

I've flashed the European firmware from samfirmware.com. It works fine. UI has not changed a lot though. I think because it is still using touch wiz. You'll notice the status bar icons have changed though. But if any of you use Link2SD or a similar app, just take not that it will not work. The app will install fine but your phone will restart when it tries to mount the partition. That said, I flashed 2.2 back on my phone and will just wait for Link2SD to work on Gingerbread.

Thats for Galaxy S devices. For Mini/Pop the update will be around mid june as told by samsung india on twitter

when i connect my phone with KIES, it always says updated firmware, no update needed...but i hav froyo running, and if gingerbread available for froyo...it should have update notifications, dont know what is the problem.

The gingerbread on samfirmware is a leaked copy for european region. It's not available via KIES anywhere. Samsung will probably make the update available in a few days on KEIS. So finally it's your call if you can wait then wait for it to come on KIES if you can't download from samfirmware and flash.
