1. Before flashing any of these ROM you MUSTHAVE Android 2.3.* Gingerbread.
2. I will post a how to flash the Andro - ID and CyanogenMOD.
3. Don't be affraid of flashing custom ROM trough recovery. Cause well the recovery has a failsafe that is activated when something goes wrong so that you won't brick your device.

3. Once you have everything download unpack the firmware . In there you should find a file that ends .tar .
4. Open up ODIN . Then select "One package" option in the left side of the program's window. Now browse with the "One Package" button in the right corner of the ODIN's window to you .tar file .
5. Now power of your phone. Plug it in to your PC using USB Cable. And go into download mode by holding Wolume Down + Home key + Power key until you see a sign that says downloading.
6. Now ODIN should detect your phone A little box should turn yellow and say something like this : COM (28) . The number will be different but the COM word won't change.
7. Now press start. And wait until the big box above the yellow box turns blue and says "PASS" then you can unplug your phone
8. The language for me was russian by default so go to your menu select the blue gear icon and go to a section that has a keyboard key icon. And then select the first option in the menu and select your language.
NOTE : The first boot of any ROM will take more time than usual And after flashing a ROM don't forget to wipe data/cache. There is such option in the main menu of the recovery

1. Clockworkmod(a.k.a CWM) is a custom recovery for android. It's like a normal recovery but with a lot of modifications(like CWM allows you to backup and restore your ROM.Or install custom ROMs
2.ROM . There are two kinds of ROMs :
1. Stock ROM (An original system provided by the manufactor of the device. In our cases Samsung)
2. Custom ROM (It's always based on a stock ROM. Like CyanogenMOD is based on Gingerbread. But this ROM has a LOT of stuff added, modified and perfected. In cyanogen you can modify almost everything.
3. CyanogenMOD (a.k.a CM7. The 7 is the number of the current cyanogenMOD) and Andro - ID are just the names of the only custom ROMs available for the mini / pop . There are a lot of other ROMs but those ROMs don't support our device.
4. And the last one about OverClocking (a.k.a OC). The processors are set to a limited frequency witch they run normally without any problems like overheating (in our case 600mhz). Once you flash a custom kernel witch supports OC you remove that limit. the max setting of our processor is about 870mhz if you push it to like 1ghz you will overload the processor and your system will start to reboot again and again and again . I think you can even break the device . So use this carefully. I think there is no OC kernel out yet for our device but there will be .

Hey.. friend thanks for your support... I wish to flash custom ROm on my samsung Galaxy Pop GT S5570.... bit scared though... dont know why anyone should flash ROMs what was your intention when you did that.... pl. reply
^ I want n i'm going to flash mine(in some time), i'm a first time user so a lil hesitant..but flashing thru odin seems to be simple n easy. cyanogen mod7 (cm7) offers various features n enhancements that android doesnt n has better looks n can be customised, if u have a modified kernel then u can overclock it(now, who doesnt want this!!)
There are TONS of speed, CPU, power, and audio tweaks. Optimizations that Google decided to not use.
More control over your screen settings...Things like 360* rotation, ability to change UI colors like the statusbar, battery meter in the statusbar, changing the render effect.
Manishgade my intention was to try new stuff on my mini / pop.
roofrider i recommend for the first time flash andro - id. If you get bored with it (like i did) you should install cm7 but in cm there are couple of bugs so not so cool an we need a special kernel to overclock. REMEMBER your base system must be Android 2.3.* even when flashing the CWM from there your base MUST be 2.3.*
Hope this helps
P. S - If any of you have any questions post them here and i will answer them.

@netas ok thanx. i'm going for 2.3.4 in sometime, later to custom roms wen they are more stable, cuz i dont think samsung will release official gingerbread anytime soon....but i dont understand the cwm part, isnt that wat bricks the fone in rom manager or is this diff? n how did u backup ur rom before flashing?
The CWM in that site is a remake of the original CWM. And we still don't use the rom manager. That CWM is flashed trough odin. And it didn't brick my phone and didn't backup my stock rom when i flashed to andro - id and cm7. I have downloaded a froyo firmware from samfirmware.com if i want to go back. But that won't happen anytime soon

1. You actually didn't need to flash CWM just to root your device. It's recommended for that tutorial to use the stock recovery.
2. So try this :
Before you install that file trough CWM go to mounts and storage section in the main menu. Mount the /system and then try to install that package.
If this won't help. Write here i will give you another method

Thankssss a ton buddy... in a shortest yet illustrative way you have answered my queries.. You are absolutely right in defining custom ROM and all other stuff... so no need to doubt your knowledge.. As I have been reading various blogs on this but never understand the things you explained to me in a good manner... Ok .. so who is developer and how he decided to develop certain ROM for certain devices and our device is limited to certain ROM why...? who is the no. 1 custom ROM developer in our case for galaxy mini.. and how to be remain updated abt. the latest development of our device in respect of custom ROM and CM7 and Andro-ID etc.... Thanks in advance....
The Following User Says Thank You to manishgade For This Useful Post:
First thank you And second the developers of other custom ROMs just don't make other ROMs support our device (hardware and stuff...). Like Cyanogen doesn't support our radio and maybe never will. But since CyanogenMOD is open-source other developers can port them to mini / pop like tj_style did in xda-developers. tj_style from xda-developers did a HUGE job porting CWM and CM to mini, but sadly the next release of his CM and CWM will be the last... The mini that he has doesn't belong to him but to his wife and she wants to sell the device. And there is nothing we can do. But couple of guys at MadTeams forum are thinking of further development. Maybe i will be the tester there. And how to know the newest ROMs for mini. If i will find new ROMs or existing ones update i will post here where to find them. So stay tunned
P. S - If you know or find something fell free to post it here. I would be glad to check it out
yes I will stay tuned to your updates....... Thanks

ok netas...i'm considering flashing to andro id 3.2...after flashing to it..
i will still have the market n access to it n all the stuff that's there in my 2.3.4 now?
or will everything be wiped out?
in that case i had appsinstaller installed which had an option to backup the apps,it saved the .apk files to my sd card. shud i use anyother better backup app?
no significant bugs rite?
also to get to andro id...i just need to follow the instructions on page 1 of andro id in xda?
cuz there are various mentions telling to flash the cwm by tj/enhanced recovery...it's all the same as the file: tass-recovery-cwm on 1st page?
n while flashing the tass-recovery-cwm file thru odin, phone needs to be in download mode rite?(i know it's too noobie)
then i can just install andro id v2.3 frm sd card rite?
I have ma device (2.3.4) already rooted and has app to move files from phone to sd card, so is there any other benefit for me ,so that i should flash to andro- id rom???

Is there a performance factor????
Depends on wat u want...the performance of gb is gud , andro-id is also similar. Custom roms(there cud be a few bugs) have a different look n feel. If ur happy with gb then no reason for u to go to andro-id. but if u want there is no trouble in flashing to andro-id n back to gb if u dont want it.
I'm very sorry for not answering your questions. My computer and internet was down so i couldn't answer them but it's cool that you have Andro - ID now

Nope these themes are only for Andro - ID v3.0 . Someone in there tried didn't work for him. And the original poster of that thread confirmed that these themes are ONLY for Andro - ID
And i have a question to you guys : I want to start a blog. And talk about my personal life, linux, android and other fun stuff. What do you think? Should i start it? Any opinions are acceptable, even the most bad comment i will appreciate

please dont try that buddy, beleive it or you will end up in a situation where the phone will be continuously restarting after showing the boot animation like me.
Had to install the whole ROM again.
I recommend vanilla rom over andro-id 3.2 although if that suits your need then its O.K.

Netas3k Dear,
this problem is in the galaxy gio
---------------
in galaxy mini after write text sms, larger than 3 pages ,cenverted to MMS automatic!. how to disable this function without install other software?
griffin2 with the SMS thing. I think that more than three pages of the SMS isn't allowed in any phone. Maybe with some aditional software it would be posible. And i'm sorry but i don't have a gio so i can't help but try this :
1. Open your dialer and type this : *#*#526#*#*
2. Then you should see that says Wlan Enginnering mode. And it says drivers loading. After it says drivers loaded you can go back to your home screen and try connecting then
NOTE : This works on mini don't know if this works on gio but try. And it doesn't work on some custom ROM's like CyanogenMOD

HEY...did cm7 n oc work fine for u?
it's all working in mine..
Yes my OC kernel works. I chose 844 mhz overclocking kernel and set it to 825mhz. I tried 900mhz but it rebooted again and again. Tried 844mhz still rebooted but i had time to change the maz cpu frequency to 825mhz. And now i'm running ok. 825mhz is running stable on my device
i got 79.0 FPS from Neocore.
Here are my pics of Quadrant , AnTuTu bechmarking results :

Everything you need to know are in my first post of this thread. Just select the ROM you want i recommend the CM7 because it's OC kernels work fine. Just remember a few thing :
1. You have to be on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread to flash this.
2. Even the CWM requires gingerbread.
3. And don't flash the OC kernel after install CM7. Use the CyanogenMOD for a minute and then flash the OC kernel. I recommend the 806mhz kernel. I use a higher one but this one works for almost everyone By The Way : Be ready because you may need to do the wipe data thing. That will erase all your programs. And will restore your settings to the defaults
But the instructions how to flash the CWM and CM7 are here :
