Oh man. So near and so far...
Got as far as step 4 in the middle esction (insert battery with key combo) and nothing happened. Now the phone isn't detected at all, and I don't seem to have anything under USB called Samsung... at all.
And started again from the beginning and windows won't detect... sigh
Frustrating. I feel there must be some way of getting there. My phone is showing signs of life, but I just can't get windows to talk to it.

Followed every step, Odin works fine, I mean it gets to the "Killer Timer" part, but my phone still doesn't boot, when I press the ON button the screen just blinks, like these one:

Hope anyone helps.

I'm glad this has worked for some of you, seems other types of bricks aren't suited to this tutorial. I no longer have this phone and it's been a long time since i wrote this so i cannot provide anymore help other than the tutorial sorry guys

Good day.

I just rooted my cellphone and i have Uninstalled my Samsung Home system data using the titanium backup app, when I restarted my phone it starts only to the Samsung welcome screen. no more after that. (I don't know why I did that)

From what I have done I have 4 questions
1. Did I brick my phone?
2. Is there any way to fix my phone?
3. Am I posting at the right thread?
4. will the tutorial be working on my phone? xD

Sorry for everything, I'm just a noob in this place

BTW my firmware is 2.2.1 froyo xD

note - only yesterday did i upgraded my phone to gingerbread 2.3.6 thru kies. also while i was installing the clockworkmod i was actually trying to back up current rom & since rom manager was unable to recognize my device, i just chose the very first listing that rom manager displayed. while the clockworkmod was installing thru wifi, my phone was also connected thru usb.
anyways i wud b extremely grateful if u cud provide me with a solution. thanx a lot.
I've done the exact same thing except that I rooted my phone using SuperOneClick. Can anyone please help

Does anyone know will this work with S5570I (Mini Plus)? And if it does, where can i get ODIN that works with it? Normally, ODIN does not detect mini plus.

Mad odin

Managed to install drivers through Kies and now my computer no longer displays an error mark against the 'Samsung CDMA Technologies'. Good news is that Odin detects my phone and says 'added, detected'. Only problem is that when I prepare to flash, and remove the battery, neither Windows nor Odin detects the phone on re-inserting battery while pressing the 3-buttons. The only way to get my phone detected after re-inserting battery is by pressing (Vol. up, power and home) simultaneously which makes my phone detected by Odin but eventually ends up in set up connection.
If I try without removing battery, I still end up in set-up connection or (cannot open port 5)
Using the same PC, Odin + Drivers and Firmware, I tried to flash a friend's phone (similar model) after he 4got his password and it worked seamlessly.
Now am sure that the problem is not with the drivers or firmware, but maybe its because my phone will only be detected when in recovery mode, (not download mode).

Hey!
I really need this tutorial, its been going well until.
Quote:
At this point follow these steps
Step 1 – Prepare Odin with a WORKING firmware and make sure everything is ready to go

Step 2 – Remove battery, SIM card and SD card, and connect your phone if it isn’t already connected

Step 3 – Hold Volume down + Power + Home button at the same time

Step 4 – Insert the battery while holding down the above buttons

(Windows will detect your phone and start to install/configure the same drivers again wait for the drivers to finish installing)
When windows doesn't detect my phone at all please help

so after that when i make the odin ready n try to enter the download mode again... no drivers such as odin driver is installed n thus stuck on setup connection againn...

help me out here.. i flashed wrong clockworkmod n got stuck here in this black screen..
Same here, I used to be able to get into download mode with my hard brick, I was a noob then and didn't know that I could flash it back, Then after losing it for about 2 months download mode no longer works, the only mode that works is armv9 mode which I think is useless im really mad

Hi

I only registered to say THANKS!

You saved me, I though I was screwed because my GT-S5870 didn't boot after odin (black screen, sound when connecting to computer), but inserting the battery while holding home+power+volumedwn did the trick. Entered in Recover again and flashed with successss!!
