Hello Androidforums,

I've tried rooting my note several times using the Doomlord download but the attempt always ends with the text ...

"failed to copy ‘files\Superuser.apk’ to ‘/system/app/./Superuser.apk’: Read-only
file system
— cleaning
— rebooting
ALL DONE!!!
Press any key to continue . . ."

And trying to use an app which requires root access tells me 'Unable to get root'.

Is my Note rootable? I have rooted phones before (Xperia X10) but using very simple methods (Z4Root and similar) and any method I use has to be unrootable (I have heard if I use Odin this isn't the case).
I'm not really very advanced at this kind of thing and don't understand anything about coding.

Ofcause yr note is rootable..... I think u 1st have to downgrade it to an early rootable firmware

I have the same issue. Any fix as yet? I'm new to rooting.

Hi Sabj, I have now managed to root my Note.

I downgraded the firmware using Odin. Instructions here:
[15.03.2012][CF-Root 5.3] KJ*,KK1/9/A,KL1/3/7/8,LA1/3/4/6,LB1,LC1,LP1 - su+bb+CWM5 - xda-developers


Then I was able to root using the Doomlord method here:
