With my brand new Galaxy I'm wanting to run BBC iPlayer.

This requires me to create a Google Account to get the app. but I can't get past the setting up of a Recovery Address. I've tried putting that alternative address in, but the "Next" button does not function and so I cannot proceed.

Any ideas please?

I've never tried to setup a Google account on phone and I'm not going to factory reset to try it

I'd suggest you create your Google account on a PC (or perhaps through the browser on your phone if you don't have access to a PC). https://accounts.google.com/SignUp

Once you've setup your account you can login on your phone.
