Default Note Stuck at Yellow Triangle?

Yesterday I received a Samsung Galaxy Note from China Mobile, model GT-I9228. It didn't have google play and so I looked online on how to get it. Apparently I had to root my phone. However, when I rooted it using this method: rootgalaxynote(dot)com/galaxy-note-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-gt-n7000-method-2odinheimdall/ (it said gt-n7000 on the box so I thought it was compatible) now it's stuck at the loadup screen with the yellow triangle. I tried to restore it to a stock gb rom, but it keeps failing. (The phone can go into download mode, I just don't know what to do from there)

There are much easier ways to root your phone than using Odin.

The yellow triangle should not stop your phone booting, it's just a notification to let Samsung know you have rooted and therefore voided your warranty.

It sounds to me like the method you were using to root has not worked. The thread you linked to uses the Abyss Kernel which is for Gingerbread (Android 2.3.x) If you were running ICS (Android 4.0.x) then it wouldn't work as it's the wrong kernel for the Android version.

I would suggest (assuming you are running ICS) that you use this method to replace the kernel with the correct one for ICS and your region:

How-to: Root / Un-Root your SG-N7000

Once you've done that the phone will hopefully be working again, if not you now have CWM installed and can replace the whole ROM with a ROM of your choice.

If you still have a yellow triangle at boot you can remove it by using this app:
