Motorola have a few phone models named "Droid," but i can see you shortened android to "droid" for slang. It's not uncommon for people to call any android device a "droid."

Thank you. It just takes less time to type and say. Chevy is chevrolet but you don't hear people getting on others' cases for saying it.

I use root explorer, though anyone of the file managers that can get read/write will work.

I also used android mate find the program I wanted to get rid of and long press it and go to properties, it will tell you the location of the apk.

Most were in /system/app.

I got rid of
email, I use gmail so it was just redundant.
Hookt, dont use no point to it.
layar again no point for me
protips
scvngr, some kind of game I dont want
twitdroyd
got rid of the stock gas price apk and installed gas buddy. Personal preference.
and I got rid of the installed youtube apk I will download the one from market, newer I would guess. If i decide I need it normally that is not used.

in /system/app make sure you have read/write privileges and long press delete the apk. and its corresponding odex if it has one.
just for the love of god dont go crazy if you dont know what it does dont touch it, or start googling it. you can mess up your phone bad if you take out something important.

Default List of working apps for rooted Prevails would be nice...

From what I've tried so far:

Working
++++++
Android Location Cache

Not Working
------------
Wireless Tether for Root Users (installed ok, but can't find the Prevail hotspot from other devices)

I am not sure why your wireless tether isnt working mine shows up to my laptop just fine, I can not test actual tethering as my boost service is not on yet.

I must be doing something wrong because no matter what approach I take I cant remove any preloaded apps...

This is what I'm getting:

C:\Downloads\KMS\KMS>adb -d shell
$ su
su

This is what I'm getting:
If you rooted your phone use a file manager with read/write permissions, I use root explorer browse to the /system/app folder and long press on the app and delete.

OK, I got it to work with "Super Manager" - The issue I was having is that I hadn't gone into the settings to enable read/write when I tried the first time. However, it is very misleading because even if you dont have write access it was still saying that the .apk's were being deleted.

Wow, really old post here... lol.

I suspect there's got to be a simple solution to your problem. No matter how bad it gets though, you can always "undo" by following this guide:

It was the first root for the prevail. The walk through that shabby mentioned became the one click root thread. This post is ancient. Lol
