Here's a thread with many user settings. Give it a look and hopefully it'll help ya some. It not only has the benchmark scores but it also has the Gov, I/O, MIn, & Max setting people are using.

[UPDATED] 4/16 Post your AnTuTu Benchmark for CTMod, CM7 and 187-MoD.

Thumbs up

This mod is pretty solid, great work! Any chance we could get FUSE support in a kernel? FUSE: Filesystem in Userspace Would allow you to mount other filesystems and stuff, very useful.

ROM has been running flawlessly until I added the following Build.prop Tweaks-
1984kbps!!speedtest.net results after a couple of tweaks

ro.ril.hsxpa=2
ro.ril.gprsclass=32
ro.ril.hep=1
ro.ril.hsdpa.category=28
ro.ril.enable.3g.prefix=1
ro.ril.htcmaskw1.bitmask=4294967295
ro.ril.htcmaskw1=268449905
ro.ril.hsupa.category=9
ro.ril.def.agps.mode=2
ro.ril.def.agps.feature=1
ro.ril.enable.sdr=1
ro.ril.enable.gea3=1
ro.ril.enable.fd.plmn.prefix=23402,23410,23411
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0
ro.ril.enable.a52=1
ro.ril.enable.a53=1
ro.ril.enable.dtm=1

Now I have no service with Roaming Indicator Flashing triangle?

Is there some conflicting code above with this CM7 build?

OUCH! I was never successful at getting any of those speed tweaks to work for CM7. Fortunately I really never need them. My speed has been pretty good so far with the Prevail and now with the Marquee.

+1 on what biker is saying. I had a long conversation with hroark13 a long while ago about all the different tweaks and he said he added every single one and valued them up to the max and if you discover some that are not added it's because they did not work with cm7 or the phone or something but he most likely tried them all out before releasing the final release of this.. my speed has been pretty good as well (considering that we are on a pre-paid 3g network). been exclusive on CM7 for well over a year now and couldn't be more happy at what this crappy little prevail has become.

Default New CM7 Thankyouhroark adw.launcher problem

I have the thankyouhroark version of CM7 with the ADW.Launcher. Lately I've been having alot of problems with applications wanting to force close, screen freezes and the launcher rebooting itself. I decided I wanted to go with the updated version of ADW.Launcher but I want to completely remove the one built in so there are no conflicts. Any advice on how to do so? I tried searching for it, but came up with nothing. Thanks in advance for any help.

The thankyouHroark version?

I'm not familiar with that version... BUT you just have to use bloodawn's apkInstaller and flash the new version. As long as they have the same name, it will just overwrite the old one with the new.

Or if you have titanium backup just install the new one and then go into the batch settings and select 'integrate updates of system apps into ROM' option

OR if they have different names, (like adw vs adw ex) you can use titanium backup and long-press the new version and select 'convert to system app' and then delete the older version.

OR you can use a file explorer with root privates and copy/paste the new version to /system/app, set the permissions to rw-r-r and delete the old version.

@ LV, Yeah. There were a few people wanting the apks that were removed so i went ahead and just added the removed apks zip to the ROM.

@JSmashu
If it were me and I started experiencing instability with the ROM, I would reflash the ROM and start from scratch replacing the old ADW with the new. Somewhere along the way it sounds like some files have become corrupted.

Thanks LV for the advice, I used Titanium Backup to make the new one a system app and also thanks wetbiker, I had to start completely from scratch anyway. I kept getting multiple system errors out of the blue that always led to the launcher restarting. Still working on getting everything stable again, but thanks again for the help!

If it's a system app then you can uninstall it with Titanium Backup...

In my exp. I've found that most corruptions came from restoring app data along with the app from backups.

Not saying that is your issue just sharing my exp.

If you use Titanium Backup, which i do. I use it to restore the APP ONLY. It saves some time if you have a lot of apps. I havent ran into any prolems unless i try to restore app and data.

If you are using S2E, make sure it's set up and working properly before attemping the restoration of the apps.

The only problem I ran into is you have to pay for the version of S2E to be able to move everything.

I am doing this for you guys because I do not think that Hroark would mind since he left his links up for us to use. You need to get this now because if he contacts me and says remove it, you can best believe I will take it down immediately.

This is the full version of CM7 with the ADW launcher. All removed apk's have been added back including the theme installer. I advise using the non-ext. kernel by Kato and using S2E. If you decide to use the themes, your phone will more than likely lag if you do not.

CM7 FULLY LOADED
CM7LoadedthankyouHroark.zip

Here is a TUT on how to install S2E.

OK, flash CM7 then go in to CWM and do a factory reset, clear cache, then clear the Dalvik cache. Reboot and give the phone time to fully boot up.

Add the Kernel to your sd card, then go back in to CWM and flash the kernel. Here is the kernel to use. Reboot after you flash the kernel.
katokern_b0.4cm7-no-ext.zip

After you have rebooted, give the phone a minute to fully boot up then go back in to CWM and format you sd card. If you are running anything below a 4gig card, select 1024m as the partition. For 4gigs and up I suggest using 2048m as your partition. You will not need anything larger than that I would think. Always select 0 as your swap. Format the card and let the phone completely boot up.

Then sign in the the market and download S2E. Open the app, tap the bottom left tab of your phone and it will open up the S2E settings. Make sure that all the boxes are checked then reboot. After you phone has booted back up, open S2E and check all the boxes except data/data. You phone will run faster when it's not checked. Go ahead and reboot your phone again.
You're done. Go enjoy CM7 on your Prevail (thanks to Hroark) and make sure to hit the THANK YOU tab on the very first post of this thread!

Thank you Hroark for leaving your links up.

S2e is totally free... The only 'pay' versions are the DONATE versions... And they are empty apps, strictly for donations...

The only check boxes that aren't greyed out are the one in settings all others are.

I had that problem too. I fixed it by repartitioning my card after installing s2e.

Why is it that when I use a update zip created with zip themer it doesn't load or work but TWRP said it was successful. I already updated Edify and checked everything. The update zip is for the lock screen. The zip is for CM7 and MDPI.

I'm running the ThankyouHoarkCM7 with the Katokernel and S2E.

If you don't mind posting the zip(or at least the updater script) I'll take a look at it for you and see what's going on

Default Re: CyanogenMod 7 Unofficial Beta 5 02/20/12

Well I definitely see the problem... Here's the updater script for Rover-Lockscreen-MDPI-update.zip:
Code:
ui_print("Executing ZipThemer update...");
show_progress(0.5, 5);
unmount("/system");
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
set_perm(0, 0, 0644, "/system/framework/framework-res.apk");
unmount("/system");
I'm not by the computer right now, so I'm not sure I can fix it for you at the moment... but it should be:
Code:
 ui_print("Executing ZipThemer update...");
show_progress(0.5, 5);
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/stl12", "/system");
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
set_perm(0, 0, 0644, "/system/framework/framework-res.apk");
unmount("/system");
Its actually set to unmount /system before it 'installs' anything *facepalm*
Even if you had tried to mount /system manually before the install, this would unmount it.

Edit- the updater script is located in ...update.zip/meta-inf/com/Google/android/

The undo one has the exact same updater script... so the problem should be the same... but if its failing, then I'm not sure... a simple way to 'undo' it is to take the framework-res.apk from the undo-zip and put it inside the update.zip that you already flashed...

OR just restore the backup that you should have made... lol

Default Theme's

Just in case anyone else was looking for a way to theme CM7 ( like me.. ) Than flash this in CWM ....... http://db.tt/9Ux6mzEx ..... Then download 'theme chooser themes' from the market.

Edit... Yeah I had to pick through several threads to find this information, I guess It wasn't posted in the OP's or nothing, I found it in a single post by LordVincent... BTW Thank you LV!!

Same problem here, and repartitioning the card from CWM did not solve the issue. Also worth noting that FreeSpace isn't reporting there being anything on the SD card and the Ext value are null (-- MB)

I can't really tell what is going on in the S2E boot log without timestamps, does it clear each reboot? About midway through it says "Please run e2fsck on the filesystem" but the entire log ends with:
"/dev/blck/mmcblk0p2 successfully mounted!

Config found on /data/data
Status dir found! Erase..."

Did you flash this AFTER booting up fully???..... cm7d2x.zip

This gives you Data2Ext support.

And KatoKernel can be found here for overclock with ext support..... katokern_b0.4_cm7-ext.zip

Guys, it looks like S2E may have updated again because I'm having the same problem getting it to work. They did this awhile back and it wouldn't work until they updated it again.

I'm using the data2ext version of The Kato kernel. It's crazy because S2E worked perfectly when I set it up 2 months ago. Oh well.

Dais, I made a theme installer zip a long time ago bro. It's posted several times in this thread.

I'm not using s2e. I'm using the built in cm tools for my ext partition. My prevail setup is:
Hroark_CM7_beta 5
Kato Kernel w/sd-ext support
And using koumamod.apk to mount my swap partition.

I may need to get the Koumamod apk info from you bro and how to set it up with CM7 That's a good idea for adding swap.

Not having any problems yet. I have not seen an update for S2E in a while. Play says Oct 22. I remember having some problems when it updated but finally got it working. I don't remember what finally fixed it, but as far as I know I am at the newest version: 3.0.2

From past experience, S2E can be finicky sometimes. I'm going to try what the Skater mentioned and add the Koumamod apk and set up some swap. I'm sure that will help a good bit.

OK, I got S2E working FINALLY!!!! lmao

I had to install CM7 and the Kato kernel no-ext version. I then signed into the Play store and all that. I partitioned my sd card and fixed permissions then booted the phone up. I then downloaded S2E, went into it's settings and checked everything. You will not be able to tap on anything in the 1st menu when you open S2E. You must 1st go into settings and check all the boxes. I then rebooted and let the phone sit for about 5 minutes. I then went in and opened up S2E and I was able to tap on the boxes on the 1st screen. I checked all the boxes but Application Data and Dalvik cache. I then rebooted and IT'S ALL GOOOOOOD!!!!! Can I get a WHOOP WHOOP!!??!!??

I've never really given CM7 a try since it's never really been bug free IIRC. Are there any advantages to using this as opposed to CTMod? What are the real differences? I know there's a bit more "eye candy" or something like that, but are there any performance boosts using this?

It gets better benchmarks. As for the ROM itself, just give it a try and see for yourself. That's gonna be the best way to choose. What works for 1 person doesn't necessarily work for the next. You got people who swear that CTMOd is better while others swear up and down CM7 is better. Try them both and decide for yourself.
