I have no access to the hidden menu because I am running Hroarks Cm7 however I was able to get 2.18 Megs down using the 3g Turbocharger set to expiremental... Prl 60683 (with full service of course) ((and knowing boost full service is hard to come by in residential districts))

how do i know which prl i have and can you post the to 3g turbo?
go to settings > about phone > status .... If you dont know which prl you are on you are probably on the boost default one... changing to a sprint one (any sprint one) increased my service.. especially at home...

Having issues updating from a Boost PRL to a Sprint PRL, CDMA workshop won't read my phone at all, tried everything like suggested, device manager has two Samsung usb and modem devices listed, only one had a COM port assigned (8). Would connect but nothing otherwise.. Any suggestions? Or is there another way to manually change the PRL? Like some phones can actually just do it from a hidden menu

12) Reboot your Phone.
* Froyo Users, you are Done, congrats!
13) Use ODIN to flash the backup you made in Step 1 back into your phone.
14) ???
15) Profit!
ron580: can you detail what values you tweaked in your build.prop?

komajutsu step 1-2 is not necessary if your on gingerbread. to get gingerbread on DM mode for cdma workshop to read it you will have to dial ##port# or ##7678# and select DM your phone will reboot in DM mode and cdma workshop should be able to read the phone now. and do you mind if i copy your tut ill give you all credit ill just add my info in step two. and ill upload my build.prop so you can check it out.

Go ahead, copy it, fix it, update it.
I just listed what I did. And I'm not familiar with the ## codes that work on our phone so I had no clue

I downloaded terminal emulator and found my MSL that way. Much easier that way. And I did end up finding the port. It was labled under modems > SAMSUNG modems. But if I have to lose all my stuff to change my PRL I'd just rather not. It was a hassel the first time to do it all because I'm not that tech smart to begin with.

GB CTMod 2.3 with Kouma 1.0 beta. This is all I know. A friend helped me set it up. I found my port. It's com4. I found my MSL number also. I Just have to search thru my computer for the adb file and see if I can piece this together, I did however change that EVRC-B and it didn't do anything so I believe changing my PRL will be the way to go. The only problem is finding one for upstate New York.

Thanks but i'm still having trouble getting adb from "one click root" to work and I can't find a cdma to download without strings attached. Any quick tips? I know I ask for a lot but i'm pickin up the pace and catching on so you wont have to tell me twice.
OK, so here is how I interpret what all these tweaks do.
Vocoder change: This changes the encoding algorithm for voice encoding, potentially freeing up bandwidth for data
PRL change: Allows roaming connections to more towers that are outside your base network. This will improve signal quality only when you just happen to be near a tower that you couldn't use before.
Build.prop tweaks: Makes changes to data encoding allowing your phone to use more of it's available signal bandwidth for data communications.
Another thing that might improve speeds is the proxy setting tweak found in another thread. Those instructions would be cool to consolidate with this thread's instructions
Ok i can rom the shit out of my phone easy, im using guide to change PRL but what prl what file lol anyone have this stuff. never used CDMA workshop before....so very interested in trying this
CTmod 2.3......CDMA workshop v3.2.6 from some site says www.cdma-ware.com on top
