Admire 2 Prevail 2.3.6
I ported the Samsung Admire 2.3.6 ROM for Metro PCS to the Prevail
I took some files from CTMOD and some files from CM7 to get it to work
Everything seems to work except the Mobile AP app and the MMS app will force close if you try to go into settings (but you can send MMS, the MMS apk is from CM7)
It comes with Kouma Kernel that I modded (the image says 1.2, but it is not)
Its pretty much a plain Jane ROM and needs some tweaking, so I am just considering it a base ROM for you guys / gals to play with and make some tweaked out versions
The good thing is that it does not have CIQ, I could not detect a trace of it and I do not think Metro uses it.
This may be a good base ROM for CTMOD version 3.0 or something
Well have fun with it

did you use the Prevail's wifi driver? I think we need to get a good working hostap driver in order to get built in tethering to work

2.3.6
I was looking through the zip and it seems there are many duplicate folders inside. Is it supposed to be that way hroark? Like in the zip there is 2 Meta-inf folders and 2 syst folders and in each system folder there are 2 of each folder.

I am using the same dhd.ko that our stock rom has
the Admire has an ath 6000 or something like that for wifi
This rom is missing the hostaps.conf file, but I did try copying one and it still did not work

Probably needs hostap.ko I'm pretty sure it's the access point driver, but I have no Idea how to use it.

here is a link to the files after I extracted them from the system.rfs file, and some other files
the only changes I made to the system folder was to de-odex the app and framework, and optimize the apk files
this is just a dump of the files, it is not a CWM zip file
the ROM in the state it is in this zip may partially work, I know that the radio, wifi, camera, mms and some other things wont work
I did spend a good deal of time for 2 days getting it to the point it is in in my OP
admire-raw.zip

What method do you use to Deodex? I tried once and had about 3 apps that error'd and afterwards it wouldn't fully boot when I tried to flash the zip (minus the certain apks and their corresponding odex files). All framework went fine. It was just some apps

I am not even sure that it was worth me doing this.
I just need some practice porting ROMS, and the Admire is basically the same phone as the Prevail, so it was not that hard
like I said the good thing is that this ROM has never had CIQ
which is making me think maybe I should switch carriers to Metro
Boost has not addressed the whole CIQ issue and released a CIQ free ROM
So Metro is looking more friendly to me

I love this to fool around with... only issues I have had are a force close when I try to change the messaging notification tone. The notification volumes are really low, too.
Any way to fix the volume? The Volume+ app is junk.

Blood, how did you get the CTMOD mms apk file to work with this ROM
if I try to use it, I get transaction failed, when sending MMS

I added AutoVolume.txt and the audio folder from ctmod to get the volume back to normal

This rom is kinda outdated, there's a much more recent one that uses 2.3.6 in the CTmod thread, or you can use hroark's cyanogenmod, and check out the several themed roms available

Just tried to DL BloodsMMSFix.zip, and I got this:
"Invalid or Deleted File.
The key you provided for file download was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on Mediafire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or Mediafire."
same thing on 2 different browsers...
