you can move your shit around, add screens or folders to put stuff on but you can't remove anything from the screen

dragging a app to the trash brings a pop up to uninstall it unless its a system app

I think your missing the whole point of this thread. I suggest you read from the beginning again. Hoark put these out as alphas. Things can be fixed but it will take time. Don't expect constant updates. These alpha's won't be 'official' anytime soon.

My 3G on MIUI and CM9 beta 2 seems to go out completly when I loose signal or have low signal and won't come back when I get good signal unless I toggle it off and restart
Edit: I'm using bloods alpha 2b but the same happens in cm9 alpha 2

same happens to me.. I have tried installing cm9 twice and run into this strange issue. it doesn't happen on CM7 or CTmod. if anyone has time to test it, I was wondering if it could be attributed to the FA19 update.. I won't be able to test for a few hours

Question hroark. when was the last time you got a updated source for CM9. I ask because MIUI (which is based on CM9) has some of the newer CM9 features.... Like the toggles tab in the notification shade...

EDIT: when you receive a call on MIUI you have to toggle mute so that the other side can hear you....

Default Gapps For CM9 Alpha 1&2

There are certain Google Apps that you wont be able to download from the Google Play Market when your using CM9.

So i put together a Gapps Package of a few apps that are NOT available on the market and a few that are available on the market

In this Gapps Package i have installed..

1-Gmail (not available on the market)

2-Gtalk (not available on the market)

3-Google Chrome (not available on the market)

4-Google Music (is available on the market)

5-You Tube (I think its available on the market)

If you do not want the few apps that are available on the market and included in this zip, use your respected app remover to ditch it (Titanium Backup) or System>Settings>select app>uninstall

If anyone has any suggestions for any Google Apps that arent included but you would like me to i will update the zip

The Google Chrome version in the zip is a modded version i found on XDA untill i can figure out why Offical Chrome Beta will not install, I tried sevral different Beta versions with no success, i also tried Monsters modded version with no luck, so after searching all night for a working version i came across one on XDA, Link at the Bottom, THIS IS MODDED NOT OFFICAL..But still really nice

In order to have Google Chrome work on some CM9 ROMS there is a Build.prop edit you have to make. The third line down from the top of your build.prop has to be changed

Change the third line down to "ro.build.id=IML74K from whatever it currently is..Offical google chrome needs this build.prop edit done inorder to work..The modded version i have provided may not,So you shouldnt have to.. but i am going to keep trying to get offical Chrome working..

If some people find this helpful, cool..Maybe Hroark can add it to the OP?

Download Gapps from here

Gapps_Prevail.zip

Original Thread For the Modded Google Chrome is here

APP "Google Chrome-like" modded Miren browser for x10 mini pro and other... - xda-developers

-Thanks Blood for your Apk Installer
-Thanks to whoever modded, whatever browser to make this from xda (modded google chrome)

Don't use an alpha ROM?
This IS NOT for daily use... If you want your phone functional, you know your options...

Just posting here some links to other CM9 threads. Seems to me instead of keeping stuff in one thread they are spreading out.

Screen shots Hroarks CM9 Alpha

how to make cm9 stable and more responsive.

Cm9 service.jar + couple of tweaks flashable zip. .stable.

Not really part of the CM9 thread but has a CM9 tweak that may be of interest to some.

only two of those threads should have been intergrated into this main cm9 thread bro...the screen shots thread was made by me and were taken right after Hroark posted the op to show people what it looked like..the reason why i didnt intergrate it into this thread is because this is suposed to be a developmental thread..not a post your screen shots thread....the bottom thread you linked also doesnt belong here because it is a completely different topic...Katos oc kernel was originally only for cm7 but he later made a cm9 oc kernel but it all belongs in his thread about his oc kernels..so your only half right

Eh better to be safe them sorry. Still would be nice if all the CM9 stuff was in one thread but oh well There is also one I forgot as well lol.

http://androidforums.com/galaxy-prevail-all-things-root/518663-kernel-cm7-cm9-miui-kato-kernel-beta-0-3-overclocked-944mhz-io-gov-2-6-35-14-update-3-24-12-a.html

-------------------------------------

On a side note: I find the MIUI rom to be very unusual compared to other roms I've used. It seems like it mimics the iPhone a lot in visual style and display. It's very clean look and the apps are nice looking. I've heard of it before but never really tried it till now. Lots of my friends use CM9 on their phones so seeing someone with MIUI is a bit unusual for me.

Look forward to more future development of these roms.

All other roms are still being worked on besides those that were maintained by Hroark. That doesn't mean that development has ceased, just means that we need to take matters into our own hands. That's why he provided the code and such. There are a lot of bright people that will continue working on it. Just don't expect any updates to CM7,CM9,MIUI anytime soon Updates will be few and far between.

Well.. damn! That's not exactly what I wanted to hear!! :P

Anyways.. I wish I knew how to dev... but it seems my attention span (ADHD) kicks in and I try starting to learn something only to not be able to get something installed right or I lose my patience... screwed up thing is... seems like the only patience I have now a days isn't much... guess I should've left all those hard drugs alone when I was younger and concentrated on something that would actually pay off more than learning how to smoke, snort, drink, etc.

Anyways, I still have some hope somewhere in this broken down vessel I call my body! :P

Hroark........

Hey I am trying to build a CM9 from source, are the steps for doing so about the same as using ur tut for CM7 build? If not can you point me in the right direction of what I need to get going? I have the repo downloaded...just wanted to check with you about the next move..

Thanks again in advance for what you do!!

well to Hroark13, Riflez and Bloodawn, I thank you all for the things you've done for the production of Samsung Galaxy Prevail Roms, sadly i've moved on to better things which are still in need of developing, If any of you manage to get your hands on a spare 300$ and feel like working on something else, i'd love to see a familiar face over on the EVO Design - All Things Root - Android Forums page. Great phone, not many devs over there :/. kinda sad to see. If any of you could possibly move onto that direction.. :P it would make me jizz at the sight :P. lol. have a great day you guys
