If you have never flashed a Froyo rom before, I suggest following these instructions carefully

xda-developers - View Single Post - (ROM) Doc's RomMod Froyo V2 + Superlite (I9000XXJPC) 9/9/10

YOU MUST FLASH THE I9000KERNEL.TAR, FLASH THE ROM, THEN FLASH I9000XXJPC_KERNEL.TAR

----------------------------------------------------------------

CREDITS:

Tayutama - for all the great info on creating roms and making battery mod compatible with JPC!
dena994 - for his Androdena theme which I modded for JPC (except for the auto-rotate button in the dock, that's still stock, amongst with some other stuff)
Androdena theme link: THEME:::::ANDRODeNa GaLaSSiA::::::RELASE OF 05\09\10:::::::::100% SECURE - xda-developers

and of course all other rom makers for setting a great example!
