Just purchased at ATT a Samsung Galaxy S Android phone. Model number Samsung-SGH-I897, Firmware version 2.1-update1, Baseband version I897UCjF6, Kernel version 2.6.29 jetaek.lee@ssep-11#2, Build number ECLAIR.

When I plug the USB cable into the phone and then into the PC it does not install or find a driver. It recognizes that it is there but... nothing.... Tried this in XP and Windows 7, same result.

So, are there drivers? How do you get them? I tried driver whiz and other ways, no luck.

I want to use Companion Link to synchronize phone with Outlook but it is not working with out a driver to recognize the phone is connected.

Any help out there? Thanks loads in advance.

go to settings/about phone/USB settings and click on your preferred usb connection mode. mine is on mass storage mode and every time i connect the phone to my computer i pull down the notification bar and click on USB and then mount.

You need to download KIES from the Samsung website and install that first.

Go to Samsung.com and get drivers and get samsung kies mini.
