What is rooting? Can anybody tell me what exactly it does or accomplishes in your phone? With jailbroken iPhone, you get to do a lot of stuff like theme, cool tweaks, unlock and cracked apps. If I root my SGS, would I be able to do similar stuff? If you're stuck to a certain carrier, does rooting let you use other carriers, like iPhone unlock?
Thanks in advance!

Well you got alot more freedom with Android phones then Iphone.
So you can do alot more then that.
Basically you can change all in the phone custom stuff and make it so much better.
When you start with it you never look back to stock stuff and well the iphone will be put in a drawer( like mine).
If you want more speed in the phone yo can always overclock it.
Stock its 1000MHz but it easy to over clocking it to 1440MHz.
App are alot for everything you need. many are free to.
The software on the phone is so much better then iphones IOS.
You can basically change what you like.
