Help on how to root SGS?

Hi,

I am new to the rooting process and i don't know where to start. I've read a lot of guides about that but i am still confused. So i need your help guys!
My SGS is completely stock running 2.3.3 Gingerbread.
Below are the specs:

Model Number: GT-I9000
Firmware Version: 2.3.3
Baseband Version: I9000XXJVQ
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJVN-CL366455 root@DELL86 #2
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XWJVN

as far as i know (and i stand to be corrected) there is not 1 click root for 2.3.X so do what i did. Flash Darkys 10.2 custom rom (google darkys rom) which automatically gives root. Then upgrade this to 10.2.2 for even better performance.
I'm running with Launcher pro + and its transformed the phone. U wont be disappointed..

search in website: androidadvices.com (in seacrh menu type root samsung galxy s)
But if you want custom kernel root then seacrh in xda developers.com website..
as above androidadvices.com root method is for stock root based on chainfire root program...

Try flashing speedmod kernel its the easiest way to root
search in xda for the speedmod kernel thread
