Default downgrading to 2e recovery on sgs

Hello, i recently got a galaxy II phone to replace my old sgs.
I am now using my sgs as an "experiment" phone, to try and flash mods. I have already rooted it.

unfortunately, I have Froyo 2.2 on my sgs, that comes with recovery 3e, stopping me from backing up my phone using titanium backup.

as I understand, the solution is to flash a kernel with 2e recovery. Where can i find one for my build - JP8?

And also, will backing up my ROM using Titanium Backup, allow me to return to the original state in case something goes wrong?

Thank you.

Which Galaxy s2 did you get?

You'd probably find more help in one of these forums:

Galaxy S2 (AT&T) - All Things Root - Android Forums

Galaxy S2 (T-Mobile) - All Things Root - Android Forums

Galaxy S2 (International) - All Things Root - Android Forums
