Sad rooted galaxy s 2.3.3 problems?!

Hi

note usre if im posting this in the correct place but here goes....

first time rooter so i hope this makes sense

im having trouble opening rooted apps after rooting my galaxy s 2.3.3
e.g
undelete - sorry but your device isnt rooted
screenshot - something about privleges

i did everything as instructed (sorry cant post link)

my phone status even reads correctly as if its rooted which makes this more confusing (i checked this on youtube)

downloaded superuser from the market but i cant update due to
checking for busybox - not found
checking current install path - fail
failed to find currently installed su binary

dont know if this will helps but i downloaded terminal emulator - not really sure what this does to be honest but when i open it reads:
export PATH=/data/local/bin:$PATH
$export PATH=/data/local/bin:$PATH
$

im probly being silly and its something quite simple but i just cant seem to figure out the problem

hopefully someones had similar issues and managed to find a fix

any help would be greatly appreciate

thank you for you time

Welcome to AF!

You're nearly in the right place, there is a specfic subforum for Samsung Galaxy S root related questions so I'll move your post there.

It says the Busybox install has failed, have you tried installing Busybox again? See if this makes a difference: Busybox Installer

There's also Root Checker which should give you the definitive yay or nay on root access.

I'd hazard a guess and say you're not actually rooted then. I'd give the root process another whirl. Did you try the Rootchecker app I also linked to?

Have you rebooted at all too? Sometimes root is only present after a reboot.

yeah think its going to be worth rooting again

i have tried that rootchecker which says pretty much the same - phones not rooted

also did reboot a couple of times but theres been no change

one thing i would say is there was an issue when i first rooted with the screen freezing on load up i had to take the battery out and try again
but it worked on like the 3rd time
no sure if that would of effected it

do you have any links you would recoomend to use for rooting?

thanks again for all your help
