software update failed and kernel failed too

i tweaked my samsung galaxy sl phone minutes ago since i just rooted it. then i went to settings, checked on software updates. since there was an available update, i downloaded the update and updated my phone. as it installed, it rebooted my phone and a red background said:

update fail! kernel verify fail!

now my phone won't turn on.

what do i do?

it still shows the samsung logo though, but it ends up blank.

help
