advice on my sprint sch700 galaxy s 1 rooting and roms
I just made the switch from windows mobile to android and got a good deal for my new phone and seems like as excellent starter android phone. I also needed as better and faster way to type like swype which is nicer for using ssh which requires as ton of typing.
I just did the sprint gingerbread upgrade from froyo version 2.3.5. are seeing a lot of posts on version 2.3.4 and 2.3.6. Between this forum and another forum I'm unsure of compatible rooting methods I.e odin and superoneclick. There are so may version of galaxy s on the gsm side and I also get lost when names or references like galaxy 4g galaxy and see tmobile or att info.
So my main question is what i need to do to root my phone. Because I see posts referring to gingerbread v 2.3.6 or 2.3.4 should I update to 2.3.6 through some flash and then root my phone? Also what are some of the specific nicknames for my sprint galaxy s version 1 model sch700?
Sorry for the real nooby question but after 2 days of researching about my phone and rooting it, it got to the point where I was downloading files and taking notes unbeknowced to me I was actually doing this for the wrong phone I think the threads were referencing the galaxy 4g for tmobile.
Any replies will get a hug and a kiss for the ladys
