Sad Rooting Samsung Galaxy S1 GingerBread XWJW5 2.3.6 not working

Hello!

I'm a first timer here. I need to root a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I900 with Android 2.3.6 build GINGERBREAD.XWJW5 (update from samsung) to be able to use an ad-hoc hotspot that is running on Windows. I want to use the Android app ZT-180 Adhoc Switcher to achieve this (available in the play store).

I read and tried allot of solutions to get it done but this build does not allow me to get root access. Some of the things I have tried:

- SuperOneClick (will not continue at Step #7)
- UnlockRoot32 (Fails with message: Failed to get shell root!)
- Batch version of zergRush exploit Easy rooting toolkit (Fail with "Hellions with BLUE flames" / mount: Permission denied (are you root?), see also screendump below.

I think all of the methods mentioned above are based on the same basics, some demon must crash to get root access with a trick (zergRush exploit). I think that the (main) problem is that in this version this 'bug' is fixed so this method does not work any longer.

Here is a screendump of the batch version i tried (similar to the others):
Code:
---------------------------------------------------------------
              Easy rooting toolkit (v1.0)
                   created by DooMLoRD

     (1) make sure u have installed adb drivers for ur device

           from (Menu\Settings\Applications)
     (4) [OPTIONAL] increase screen timeout to 10 minutes
     (5) connect USB cable to PHONE and then connect to PC
     (6) skip "PC Companion Software" prompt on device

Is there another trick to get root access? I don't think i did something wrong because I follow the rules needed for this 'patch'. I think that some fixes in this build avoid crashing of the deamon that is needed to get root access or am I wrong?

Does anybody know any solution to this?
Thanks for the replies, tips or any other comment that leads to a solution.

Look no further I have your solution!
First off you need to go on your computer and Google "official Samsung galaxy s 2.3.6 update xxjvw4" you should find a blog/website with a download link to both the update and a program Odin. There will also be an option to go to the next page on rooting the update. Download the CF Root file. Now your ready to go.
First off backup. Secondly go into download mode on your phone (shutdown then turn on holding down+power + home.) Then a screen with a hazzard sign saying downloading will appear. Now plug in your phone to your pc
Then open Odin. You will then need to select your files... First off click the PDA Button and locate the update folder (forgot to mention that it must be extracted) after selecting the file click the Run button on Odin. This will install the official sgs 2.3.6 update. Once done you need to root. Go back to odin and click pda again. Now select cf root and then ckick start again.

You are now rooted!!!!
