Question Performance problem

Hi,

I've recently updated the firmware from XXKE1 to XXKG5 on my Galaxy S2.

However, I've noticed that I seem to be getting performance issues that did not exist before.

For example, previously on KE1, when I enter the android marketplace it was fairly instantaneous, with no delay/lag/latency etc.

However, now - on KG5 - whenever I use the android marketplace app, there is a delay and a Loading icon (spinning circle). This is one for around 3-10 seconds.

I've noticed a similar delay in other areas.

Can anyone advise me on this please?

Thanks,
D

1) The Market has been a bit "laggy" recently I've found.

2) Did you you do a "full wipe" before upgrading your firmware?

3) Did you install your old firmware's settings to your new firmware?

Ok, what do you mean by a "full wipe" ?

And, what settings are you referring to on the firmware?

My understanding was, doing the flash update as I did, nothing should be wiped???

Have got some concerns over this. What about any temporary data used by the android O/S? Surely this would need to be wiped if a newer firmware was being flashed? Is there a temporary store or cache?

Thanks
Darren

Sometimes when flashing different firmwares there are problems that can be caused by the previous firmware's configuration and settings. This can cause a general lag or, in some cases, a freezing or rebooting of the handset.

In such cases a "full wipe" is recommended. See here:-

Hope this helps.

Flashed to KH3. Now none of my contact photos will appear in the messaging app.

Any ideas?

Thx,
