Default JKay 13.6.2 now out

Good times ahead soon folks. JKay has almost completed his 13.6 LA4 release, and this one I feel will be a cracker, as the completion of which will shortly be followed by the much anticipated (at least by me!) CheckROM v6 LA4 release. 13.6 will be getting a few excellent new features. I particularly like the home key double-click assignment, and also showing 9 instead of 6 recent apps in Task Manager.

Features in v13.6 since v13.5:
* Added support for CRT effects with animated screen lights!
* Added 'Fast double click' on/off toggle (uses 350 ms instead of the default 500 ms for home button double click timeout)
* Added 'Vibrate when unlock' on/off toggle for all lockscreens (even pin and pattern).
* Support for home button double click custom action or unlock (Also works when pincode is set and secure mode is turned off!)
* Changed Recent apps dialog to hold 9 apps instead of only 6
* Added support for LiveWallpapers on Circle lockscreen
* Added support for transparent background on Circle lockscreen
* Added support for Next Alarm info on Circle lockscreen
* Added support for Show Clock on/off on Circle lockscreen
* Added support for Show Date on/off on Circle lockscreen
* Added support for Show Charging info on/off on Circle lockscreen
* Added support for Show when secure on/off on Circle lockscreen
* fixed bug in systemui
* faster loading of Deluxe lockscreens
* updated Deluxe Settings to support the circle lockscreen
* Added FM Radio Widget support on Circle lockscreen
* Added support for 'Leading zero on clock' toggle on Circle lockscreen
* Added support for 'Show swipe help text' toggle on Circle lockscreen
* Added support for 'Long date format' on Circle lockscreen
* Fixed bugs reqarding new music and radio widgets on Glass Deluxe and AOSP Deluxe lockscreens
* Clock on AOSP Deluxe lockscreen is now centered vertically when no music widgets are shown!

Thanks old bean!

Am waiting patiently for my tried and trusted, "Green Coloured", theme to come out.

As you say, after recent events with JKay, it's nice to see that he's back on his game with the SGSII.

Is this the JKay deluxe settings app? I'm on 13.2.2 still, so how would I upgrade? I've googled, but cant see any clear ways of doing it.

Just checked. Deodexed. For a moment there thought I'd made a real school boy error.

For now the exclamation warning has disappeared?? Very odd

I'm all up and running on HTC green circle, and very nice it is too.
I like the recovery/reboot/power off from the notification bar, as the power key can be a little awkward to press at times.

Just downloaded and installed JKay's Green Circle theme and Deluxe Settings with just a Dalvik wipe and a reboot after restoring my Deluxe settings.

I wonder if the JKay v13.5 theme and Deluxe Settings doesn't agree with the CheckROM v5beta which is based on Samsung XXLA4 firmware?

What are you running Syd and Riche?

May have hit the nail on the head there old boy.

Using the previous beta 5 which was kl1, although should be compatible but may be that's the issue?

Anyway, formatted, restored old data and all systems go again. Live to fight another day

JKay 13.5 is only for KL1/KK5/KK2/KJ3/KJ2/KJ1/KI8

No JKay support is the main reason I.m still on CheckROM 4 KK5

As you are using the latest CheckROM v4 and Siyah kernel, you should use the v13.5 download in post #2 and select a, "deodexed", theme of your choice.

Do read the installation instructions carefully as well as the FAQ's.

Now I am using a stock unbranded ROM and Siyah 2.6.12 as kernel. Which one should I download?

ROM is odexed. I've tried 13.5 odexed but CWM aborted installation.

Thanks!

It depends on what ROM you are running now and what firmware it is based on...KK5, KL1, KI4, etc. Then check to see which theme version supports that ROM in post #2 of JKay.

Having Android 2.3.4 means I have KI4? How do I know the firmware of my phone?

If it's KI4, then look under, "Older versions", in post #2 of JKay.

Struggling to understand this mod now. Jkay settings come with Checkrom but this is out of date now. How do I update the settings only withouy downloading a Jkay theme? Im using Verts Ics theme from the Kitchen.

Whenever I click the Jkay download link all iy brings up something about circle mod and overscroll glows.

Hi Rudedawg!

JKay Deluxe Settings now come bundled with each JKay theme, where as before, they were a separate entity.

This means that to get the JKay Deluxe Settings you have to install the theme as well.

However, in a dim part of my brain, long, long, ago, I seem to remember hawker mentioning something about getting the older Deluxe Settings .apk to work with other themes... or I could be totally wrong.

You'll have to wait until hawker emerges from whichever gin joint he's in for more info I'm afraid.

i downloaded a .zip of the settings and all i get is install aborted in cwm :-( . now i have no jkay at all :-(. whats the point of having it bundled with checkrom if its not really that compatible with the main features of the rom? Bloody daft. Guess its bye bye ICS theme.

If you are running CheckROM and have installed the ICS theme, you will need to download and install the, Theme Restorer, from Kitchen Pro before you can flash another theme.

As far as I know, that ICS 1.9 theme in the Kitchen is JKay 13.5 compatible, but I've not tried it myself. Most other ICS themes around work on earlier JKAys so you would have to find the appropriate Deluxe Settings app to go with it if its pre 13.3.9. Therefore you would have to weigh up how much you want the theme against the JKay features you would lose out on.

Ok guys thanks for the input. You've answered all what I wanted to know. I reverted to stock and Jkay settings let me in again.
Version 13.2.2 was the latest settings Apk I found in the Jkay thread under 13.5.

EDIT: See where I went wrong. I was using my phone to browse. When I clicked 13.5 it would flip out and send me to 13.1 instead. On a PC it downloads 13.5.

Bloody phones eh :P

JKay 13.6 is now out!

Remember this if for LA4 firmware.
Deodexed themes should start rolling out tomorrow.

CheckROM v6 (LA4) shouldn't be much longer now.....

Which one should I download to use with Checkrom v4 and Neak 1.3.3?
Install through Recovery? Any wipes?

Thanks!

None!

Read the first post.

1. It was intended for LA4, which CheckROM v4 isn't.

2. It has been withdrawn because of bugs and will be replaced with v13.7 in due course.

See here:-

(Knickers! He's leaving my favourite theme until last! Doesn't he realise that I've got things to see and people to do! )

I just tried to install Revolution HD V3 out of the kitchen (JKay 13.6.4) and I ran into an issue. Originally I installed it after I installed .3 and it worked fine for a few min, then the radios stopped working and the Baseband version read "unknown", so I decided to wipe, run the romnuke and reinstall CheckRom V6 then install Revolution HD V3. Everything worked great while I was setting my phone back up, I was doing one last thing (changing the camera storage to SD) and the phone rebooted and when it started back up sure enough the radios where offline and the Baseband Version read "Unknown" again.

Does anyone have any idea what the hell is going on here, I love Revolution HD!
