Hi everybody, this is my first post on here. Had a Galaxy S2 since last May, or was it June? Anyway, I've downloaded and installed this AndyX v7.0 ROM at work today (don't tell my boss). The only problems I'm seeing so far are the white menu in WiFi settings (it saved my wifi settings and connected automatically so this wasn't an issue) and I can't get the video camera to record. When I press the red record button on screen I get the blue "wait" ring spinning round, then it goes to a pop up "recording failed" dialog box. I didn't notice the camera making a humming noise, tho....
Welcome hamfish! Glad to hear you're enjoying the rom! I have the same issues as you. I hear that it's a fault with the official rom, so any custom rom based on the official rom will have the same issues, not just AndyX ROM.
I found a new issue! Siyah v3 alpha6 + Voltage Control = Crash. I tried lowering to 800mHz as I usually do, but it crashed and couldn't restart without crashing. So, back to stock rom until the problem is sorted. 800Mhz works fine with the stock kernel. I should update the OP and I should be posting in the Siyah thread...

Saved settings on startup or init.d ?
I´ve changed here to 800 and 1000 without problems. Saved on startup.

I have gone back to CheckRom for now, it was a good idea, but probably a bit hasty to release, I am sure once the bugs have been sorted then this will be a very good ROM
Its a good ROM . . .Still got bugs here and there but can be used through the day
Hate the odd white menus that pop in (wifi, and contacts import i have seen so far)
Also hate the custom status bar . . .need original ICS icons . . .part from that . . lags in places but nothing major . . .

Well for that problem I saved with init.d but the problem is that any time I try lowering to 800MHz it can't handle it, whilst I'm on siyah kernel. Stock kernel is fine and 1000MHz is fine.
On a lighter note I have news from El Hilo! adesirello is working on v7.1 with fixes to the video. recording and wifi display issues. Also he's apparently figured out how to get the awesome crt off effect back! Sounds like a keeper!
I decided to go back to 6.3 for now until the problems with v7 are ironed out. It's working great and I'm getting about 2 days out of the battery judging by the discharge rate.
downloading now! By the looks of it the annoying this from V7 have been fixed . . .hoping battery life has been improved . .. even after uninstalling apps i didnt need etc the battery would just decrease without using the phone in my pocket :-/
Hey I got a question, so last time I went from 6.0 to 6.3 without wiping cache or anything etc... I just clicked install from zip. Everything was fine but the messaging app, and it just stopped functioning for some reason.
Do you guys do a complete wipe every time when a new version comes out? It's annoying to set-up again and again especially if updates are daily =\
I do a complete wipe, but I don't bother backing up any settings or anything. My numbers are all stored on my sim, the only thing I'd like to not have to do is have to download all my songs on spotify again from my PC. Got 7.1, just about to install it now
This is odd... I performed a complete wipe and I tried to select Swype and Swiftkey X. For some reason it won't let me change keyboard types... Is anyone else having similar issues? When I select Swype or Swiftkey X there's a check-mark. When I press back and check it again it's unchecked...

I haven't had that issue I'm afraid. I check the box for Swiftkey to enable it and then select it as default. What version are you running?
Haha, sorry I meant another download link...whenever i go to the uploaded.to website to download it, it keeps saying that I've reached my free download limit when I haven't downloaded anything.

Installed 7.1 on Sunday with a terrible hangover, really liking it, battery life is excellent and no issues with anything so far. The X/Y keyboard issue is because it's a European version of ICS. Apparently that key layout is used in quite a few countries in Europe. I'm just using the Android keyboard which has everything in the right place
Hi all - after getting the official ICS update with horrific Touchwiz on top, I'm dying to use Andyx 7.1. However, none of the "uploaded.to" links seem to work here in North America. Can anyone upload the file to a mirror, or put up a link for the same? Would be mucho appreciated
Thanks!
Yes a couple of people would probably appreciate that *coughmecough*
Perhaps some kind individual who managed to download it without it stopping at 177mb and wasting my downloads could upload it to a dropbox account and link us?
Update on my AndyX Rom experience: I'm being told that I'm sending messages twice to people. Is anyone else experiencing this? I only press send once but it sends twice? Maybe it'll be fixed in 7.1.
However as you guys can see, it's uploaded on multiupload.com and it's been closed I guess. Can you guys provide a link or a contact person or anything where I can download this firmware? Would much appreciate it.
Also, since I am new to flashing back to previous iterations of Android, is it the same procedure as flashing to a new firmware? I read that you have to flash the stock kernel first, then reboot, then flash the firmware. Anybody can help me with this?

Funny story, I just got the download to work and it finished an hour ago! But I'm sure some people appreciate it and I'll still help.
I suggest fullwipe, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, wipe battery stats, repeat, then install a custom GB rom like CheckROM v6. Then you don't have to worry about stock kernels!

Kie, I had the same issue when I installed 7.1, really odd. I don't use the stock messaging app either I am a GOSms kind of person so not sure why it is doing this.

And I'm on Handcent. I'll install 7.1 asap and test it to see if fixed
Thanks so much! After multiple flashes, 7.1 is now working like a charm.
In the course of extensive googling, I came across a package that would restore the Andyx battery icon and notification/status bar back to stock, but can't seem to find it anymore (it was on some spanish/south american blog). Anyone have a clue?
Also, @hippityhop, I had to revert to 2.3.4 after 2.3.6 because the latter decimated my battery. I have the GSII firmware - XXKG1. As I said, it's 2.3.4, but works great and has all the files you need. When I downgraded, I had to flash the modem and CMS fields in Odin instead of just PDA, but it worked fine. Didn't have to do any wipes, but you might need to if you're going down from ICS.
If you want to try that out, let me know and I'll upload it for you.
