It does not however touch your internal storage or external SD card (the purists amongst you would say a true full wipe also formats your internal storage, but I've chosen to omit this in this script, so that possible backups, photos etc are retained).

After executing this script, you must flash your ROM directly afterwards. If you do not, your GS2 will not boot. You will get a boot loop as /system will be empty. (NB. Clearing /system is not done as part of a Wipe data/Factory Reset in CWM Recovery)

GS2ROMNukev1.0
Does the following:
1. Formats /system
2. Formats /data
3. Formats /cache

Let me know if you have any other ideas as to files/folders that could also be removed so I can look into it for possible inclusion in the next release.

Thanks for your Cleaner!
Is this only for .zip (Recovery) ROMS or also works before flashing through Odin?
Should I also use it before Restoring a Nandroid backup in Recovery?
If not, is there anything you would recommend before restoring a nandroid backup?
Thanks again,

Thanks, Hawker. Does this script run through the wipe process once only? I see people mentioning to go through twice when manually resetting/wiping etc, or would it not matter in this instance?

Nice one hawker, me old sausage!

Correct me if I'm wrong, (you would anyway )...

This replaces the, "Full Wipe", in other words, the double wipe that we are used to?

This does NOT touch anything in the Interal or External SD cards?

You MUST NOT attempt to reboot your phone, after using this NUKE wipe, until you have flashed a new ROM, (in the same way as you would not restart your phone after a FULL WIPE, prior to flashing a ROM)?

Is it true that your next project is called the, "Armageddon Wipe", that deletes everything, including the fillings in your teeth?

Definitely does not touch internal storage or external sd card as stated in the original post.

Extra instructions added to post #1 however due to ironass' pedantic dog-with-a-bone nature.

Ps. Armageddon wipe? now there's a thought. I might just do one that also wipes the internal sd card!

I dont know if for sure if you can run this prior to flashing a ROM through Odin, but in theory I would say you could.

No point doing anything before a Nandroid restore, as this is an image of your phone at the point of the backup, so if anything extra has gone onto your phone in the affected areas in the meantime then they will just get lost during the restore anyway.

Mate. Not sure what's happened. Thought I'd test myself to a full wipe using your script before b6 but keep getting error code 6 and won't run.

Any ideas?

Not sure butty. I'm away this weekend so can't do much until Monday. It worked for ironass. Perhaps try to re download. If not just do a manual factory reset etc.

Following your steps I'm getting "E:Error in /emmc/GS2ROMNukev1.0.zip
(Status 6)
Installation Aborted"

Pretty much the same problem as everyone else, redownloading doesn't help.

How weird!

Both Twinn and I have used it OK.

If you are encountering problems, just use the Full Wipe method described in item 5, here:-

I'm away at the moment so I'll post an update Monday evening. I can't edit the script in the zip file on my hand set. It's probably a missing ";" on the end of a line or a windows cr__lf has crept in. too late I know for your v6 flash, but it will be primed and ready for action next time.
Sorry folks

Just to report further, iron ass pm'd me his version and got the same error message.

Flashed v6 without wiping and all working fine, but will wait until next week and retest your script then.

Cheers mate. V1.1 will be up on Monday and will include more wiping too, so watch this space.

For those who only run the script without doing a factory reset then the ROM would have been installed as a no-wipe. If you did a factory rest then no worries.

I lost root on my first v6 flash but I put it down to the fact I flashed neak and kph modem immediately afterwards. I restored and reflashed and all was ok.

it's not the nuke script that loses root. I just tested it again now. The script does nothing at all due to the error.

It's pushing on 5am so I think ironass will have finished chasing cheese in about half hour. I'm sure he'll chime in when he's caught his breathe.

My hat goes off to that grumpy old Cotswold cheesemeister ironass, but you forgot to include Bargoed butty!

@lulavc: you're welcome mate. Just glad that you gave me a mention. That's more than I can say for a handful of others lately.

On topic again... before we're all put on the Naughty Step... assuming that CheckROM, and other custom ROM's, may be using .zip files, is it OK to use your ROM Nuke prior to flashing ICS or is it a case of wait and see?

I assume it will have the same cache/data/system areas on the device, so it will probably be ok, but we'll have to wait and see.

If any of my scripts don't work with ICS I shall do my best to get them compatible as soon as I can.

Hi Hawker, i had a problem running ROMNuker prior to an ICS installation. Me and more 2 people had a black screen after installing WanamLite and/or AndyX ROM. Ther black screen appear after rebooting the device.

Donīt know if was only bad luck or something else.

Ok mate. Thanks for letting me know.

I dont see how running this script prior to installing an ICS rom would cause any issues however, especially if you were trying to go from GB to ICS. If you were already on ICS and run the script then flashed another ICS ROM, then I can see this may possibly cause problems if ICS has totally different areas that need clearing.

I can't test anything until I go over to ICS myself. I won't be doing so until CheckROM release their ICS version.

No problem mate. Do you know when CheckROM is going to release the ICS version? I believe that LPQ already offers a good base to start cooking.

I wanna see VillainROM ICS. Never used its GB version.

Seems like it will be a little while yet.
Apparently the CheckROM devs are not too keen on using LPQ as a base.
