Default Kernel version query

Using Mobile Odin I installed JB 4.1.2 and the PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSJ-OXX-3.1 kernel onto my I9100 , however its showing as

I'm on PhilZ Kernel and Settings > About Device > Kernel version is the same as yours.

PhilZ kernel is 100% stock kernel. He does not make any alterations to it, which is why we don't get any of the fancy features such as undervolting, bln, gestures etc. that we see in Siyah, Dori etc.

This is why there is a different PhilZ kernel for every firmware version, as it is the kernel that came with the firmware itself.

All PhilZ does is adds root+CWM recovery and all his updates are on this and not the kernel itself.

So the only way to check if you are on PhilZ Kernel is to boot to CWM?

Thanks Hawker, I'm still getting the rooted triangle at boot; thought mobile odin cleared that and the counters, is that supposed to happen ?

You can clear that with a USB Jig off ebay, but these only work if you have the GB bootloader installed.

Alternatively, if you have the ICS bootloader, you can get rid of the triangle with TriangleAway from the Play store

Thanks for the info Hawker; but Chainfire states "Flashing with Mobile ODIN does NOT increase your custom kernel flash counter or make the yellow warning triangle appear."

I've never done it through mobile odin, but if you used it to flash a stock rom then my guess is that it would
