Default Jeboo kernel for JB Leak

This is a working kernel for the JB XXLSJ leak that includes fixes for both lockscreen lag and the Exynos exploit.

Comes with a non-touch version of Philz recovery (touch may follow)
It's worked very well for me up to now.

+1

Fixes the main problems as mentioned above. Excellent as a stock kernel until Siyah and Dori have stable offerings.

The best thing about this kernel is it doesn't break Camera Features even if ExynosMemAbuse Patch is on.
Tho got Camera failed once. But a reboot did the trick.

v1.0e is causing me a fair bit of lag, especially when using wifi. Not sure why. If anyone else has the same problem, here is the link for v1.0d.

It seems like the latest release, v1.1f rebase, is rock solid. I have had zero issues with it. Flashed it and forgot about it. Many others are reporting smooth, problem free phones also.

Jeboo has gone on to say that he intends to keep the kernel simple and stable, leaving Siyah and Dori to deal with the tweaking side of things. An Mdine sharpness tweak is on the cards but at present, it's implementation is to be decided (flashable zip or an option in CWM) Many users are pushing for BLN too but that has not been confirmed as yet.

I'm using the latest version with NEATrom Lite. It's a match made in heaven!

Use Hawker's kernel clean and give the latest 1.1f rebase a spin (link above) and then see what you think.

Reading around, it seems that some of those freezes may be attributed to the latest version of SuperSU (v1.0). A update to v1.1 offers a workaround for the problem. After updating via Play, don't forget to run SuperSU so as to update your binaries also.

You can obtain a pre-release copy of SuperSU v1.01 in .zip format for flashing via CWM, here.

There is another update for SuperSU on Play today v1.02

This link to chain fires site gives you the lowdown....

http://www.chainfire.eu/articles/131/SuperSU_the_dumpstate_situation/

Is there a SuperSU thread? It could be useful after the problems of late and it would save the Jeboo thread going off topic.

Very interesting Squinty13!

I did a quick check and I cannot find a SuperSU thread other than one about root install.

Trust me, famous last words if you are female, the mod's are really not that draconian about off topic, unless of course you're stupid enough to start a thread called, "Off Topic".

However, IMHO, it might be handy to have a separate SuperSU thread, entitled, cunningly, "SuperSU", for anyone searching for info as it affects all rooted phones.

Need more coffee!

Signed.

What a can of worms though!

Anyway, just so this thread does not get moved....

As I was making a cup of tea today I started to reflect on my purchase of a GS2 all those months ago. What a wise decision that was, as it truly is a wondrous device. An incredible feat of engineering made all the more impressive because I had installed the latest Jeboo kernel (links to which are in this very thread).

Then I realised I had run out of custard creams and to be honest the day was all downhill from there on.

Just flashed this mod and confirmed it works a treat. Something I missed from having no Jkay.

New version is up. Note: Set Cpu does not support GPU tweaking so go with Jeboos recommended alternative if this is an important feature for you.

v1.3a
- Added GPU tweaking (2-step for now) (netarchy et. al.); I am using CPU Adjuster app (free)

Anyone having problems with the v2.0?? I`m getting random restarts and also for over one hour my phone was looking OK but was actually out of reach. When my colleague told me that my phone is off I was surprised, tried to call myself from another line and yes my phone was out of network, although everything was looking just fine on the phone.
Hmmm....back to v1.3

Are you on LSJ or still LSD ? Might be something related to LSJ ? after going back to v1.3 everything went back to normal.

General consensus is that the Jeboo1.3 for LSJ is the most stable on all releases

Another test has been released which restores the init binary from LSJ. Seems to have cured most people's boot loop issues. Jeboo is looking into why it occurs on newer releases.

I'm trying to root my galaxy s2 with Jeboo kernel to get root. I have downloaded all the Jeboo kernels I can find. But when I upzip them instead of a .tar file there is only a zimage. Can someone please tell me how to change the zimage into the .tar file.

If you are on stock ICS then I would suggest this method.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719

I used it and never got the yellow triangle up. Once rooted I flashed Neatrom (tried several variants) and still no yellow triangle.

Actually I am on 4.1.2 Jelly Bean I9100XWLSD and the problem is being able to download a Jeboo Kernel and extract it to a tar. All I can find are zimage when I extract them and they are not read by Odin

I would say you are already rooted then.
Just copy the zip file to the phone/sd card, boot into recovery and flash from there.
Hawker has written some scripts that clean up the remnants left behind by different kernels. I would also suggest putting those onto the phone/sd card and flashing those at the same time.

Sorry, don't have time to find them at the moment, just on my way out to meet the wife for lunch.
