Default UCLA3

I own an SGH 1727 and I have been reading up on rooting. No one has said anything about my build, which is Gingerbread UCLA3.. I know that my android version 2.3.6 is compatible with the current ODIN methods, but will my kernel build have an affect on the rooting process? (kernel version (2.6.35.11)
thanks

AFAIK, rooting has nothing to do with the kernel version.

The following link may help you to root your device.
[HOWTO] NEWB GUIDES TO: | RESTORE TO STOCK | USE ODIN | INSTALL CWM | ROOT | ics & gb - xda-developers

Personally, I have the i777. Therefore, I've never tried the steps. But I followed the similar one from XDA to root my device. HTH.

If it has nothing to do with the kernel, then how come the title of the guide entails "ics & gb"? Is ice cream sandwich not a kernel type
