Default Rooting Questions

I am new to rooting and have a couple questions.

I actually live in Canada. I actually have the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket through Rogers Canada. While I know this forum is for the AT&T phone I would like to know if they are the same? The correct forum is pretty dull and dead so I thought I'd have a higher chance of getting the right answer here. Anyways, will the rooting software for this phone work with my normal Galaxy S II Skyrocket? Will any Samsung Galaxy S II rooting software and roms work for my phone?

Next up, is the 4.1 software worth it right now? It looks pretty neat and I'd like to upgrade (we all know how long it took the SGII to update to ICS), but if most of the features aren't working at this time I probably won't bother.

Nope, the hardware is different. The closest relative to the Skyrocket is the T-Mobile GSII/t989. I know that roms from the t989 work on the Skyrocket, but they need to be converted first. However, I'm not sure what program/process they use.

For more info, search Skyrocket board on these forums or go here:
