I've rooted multiple phones, but am a little more nervous to root a tablet. Any thoughts, info, opinions would be very helpful!

First off, welcome to AndroidForums!
To answer your question, rooting does not wipe any data on the tablet at all. And while I have not rooted a Galaxy Note 2, I can tell you it work for my Tab 2. The rom I used is available OTA via another download site. As far as rooting goes, its opened up a lot of possibilities for me
