I power on my tablet. I can here it connect with the Samsung tone yet the screen never connects. The screen just appears to have a soft glow to it. Any suggestions? Can something like this be fixed and if so where?

I have the same problem with my galaxy tab 2 7.0 too. Not been 1 month since it was bought and intermittently the screen goes dark ( almost bluish-black ) in the middle of using it and I can still hear the app in the background. Also, whenever it's plugged into the charger, the screen remains dark.

For hardware issues like this, probably best you take it to a repair/service center.
