Hi,

I have my Galaxy Y updated to latest version DDLC3. I would like to root my phone and want to know if it is okay to use the attached file to root my phone with latest firmware or do I need any other file?

Did anyone tried rooting the phone with latest firmware (DDLC3)? Any issues?

It means that you can't flash the zip file with CWM Recovery it is working only on Stock ROM's recovery mode and after that you can do whatever you want.

You will open in Superuser and under preferences you will find information about your root. If you see SU binary v3.0.3.2 that mean you are rooted.

Yes. Rooting is about permissions on your device file system, the network sim lock is quite separate.

Run first the c.c.b.s.fv2 zip in recovery and then try to root.

But if you try to root fisrt and nothing happend then it goes like this:.

1. Unroot v4
2. c.c.b.s.f v2
3. Root v20

Everything is explained c.c.b.s.f you can run it like the rest of the zip files in recovery mode it will give you additional space so you can root the phone. Language will remain. I can't explain you anything more than the thread read it 5 times if you need I don't need to repeat my self like paparot. And there is no chance to brick your phone nobody has brick the phone with this method.

How can find my stock ROM?
You know that I have Samsung Galaxy young GT-S5360
Model number: GT-S5360
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: S5360XXLA2
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7 dpi@DELL180#1
Build number: GINGERBREAD JPLA1
Also my phone storage is 158MB/190MB and External SD card is 1.30GB/1.85GB. You mean I must delete some apps in order to release internal memory and then root phone? But as I told u I saw “your phone rooted and enjoyed it!” message in recovery mode BUT nothing happened in menu

Tommorow I'll be making second root zip file ..it will be only root and nothing else... No busy box, root validator, sq3lite...and so on...smaller size. That stuff can be added after rooting if someone want it.

Hey,

just wanna say thanks, i found this thread. i don't want to rush in performing root/unroot my android device because i fear this might render into inoperable device or shall we say "brick phone" if i'm not mistaken. i want slowly but surely with the help of yours. please guide me by breaking it down into details or step-by-step, knowing its precautions and how to get back to the original/factory settings and what about the warranty? so, below are my phone details:

Model number: GT-S5360
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: S5360DXLE1
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7 dpi@DELL130#1
Build number: GINGERBREAD.DXLE1

First thing first.

1. You will never ever brick your phone by rooting your device via Stock Recovery mode.
2. If you are not on any of those Network Providers listed then you can stright use root_v22
3. If you are listed then you can use first thing for pre root the c.c.b.s.f_v6 and then apply the root_v22 or only root_v22b
4. Yes by root you will lost the waranty but with unroot you will return it back whenever you want and the counter for flashing is only counting firmwares not the root zip files (you are undetectable for them)
5. Nothing to fear in this.
6. Never use the application ROM Manager in most case it will brick your phone.
7. Thats all good luck.

THANK YOU so much, this was the only solution that works with my Galaxy Young GT-S5360L after upgrading to Gingerbread 2.3.6 (with V2.3.5 there wasnīt any problem but I donīt know why it was different with 2.3.6).

Hello and thanks for the information.

Iīm having problems with a GT-B5510L wich I bought like 6 months ago. It seems to be rooted, because have no carrier blocks and doesn't accept any firmware update from Samsung.

It started to turn off itself, and now I can't even turn it on. Sometimes for a few seconds I can get into recovery mode, download mode or eve use it for a few minutes, btu thats it.

I want to update firmware, in case that's the problem, but I read in your tutorial that I need to be running stock rom (wich I'm not).

Could you please help me?? If you have any idea on what could be hapenning or how to get back to stock rom (where to get it) and then try your method.

Thank you!!
