Has racing game computer ai improved? I have not played a racing game since like GT3.. It just pisses me off that even at lower levels the computer never makes a mistake.. short of just buying the best stuff it seems the only way to win on harder levels is fishtail people and pray.
I'm still debating with myself wether to take with me the PS3 to Canada or leave it alone. I'm interested in this game to see if it can please me on the casual level of gameplay or if it gets to complex for me.
I'm still bit too much sucker for Mario Kart, so sue me!
Absolutely. I've had it on pre-order for about 10 months. Not that it bothers me, as Gran Turismo has always been racing perfection, and you can't rush perfection. It's ready when it's ready.

In Forza 3.. the computer AI is extremely tough on Hard so I could only imagine that the GT5 devs would see that and incorporate similar AI ability in their game
I want to see the kinds of customizations GT5 will offer
Being a fan of racing sims myself (on PC, GRID and then NFS Shift currently here) I have to say not only does that look awesome, but having played GT2 on PS2(?) I can honestly say that even *I* am looking forward to it. And I have yet to buy a PS3....
I quit drooling for GT5 a couple years ago. Tired of waiting and being baited along. I'll pick it up eventually, but probably not on launch day.
Who has been baiting? Sony or Polyphonic never gave a GT5 release date until earlier this year. The only people crying about delays are the pathetic "want it now crowd" that are happier having broken stuff sooner.
All full Gran Turismo releases (non A-Spec/Prologues and specials) arrive mid-term of a consoles life. This is no different.
PS1 Launched 1994, GranTurismo2 released 2000
PS2 Launched 2000, GranTurimso4 released 2005
PS3 Launched 2006, GranTurismo5 released 2010
I use to love the GT series till 4. The multi player just killed it for me, not being able to use any assist or even racing tires. If I still had a PS3 I would of checked this out because I love racing games like this, but I have no plans on buying a PS3 for one game. I'm happy with Forza Motorsport 3. @ VegasOnAcid the AI in Forza 3 is pretty decent. On Easy they will spin out often in corners, on Medium it's rare, on hard they never mess up and they totally ignore you a lot of the times. They want their line and they aren't going to let you stop them. So AI has improved over the years but still has a long way to go.

Yeah, I'm quite sure GT5 will have positive impact on the game marked in a good way for every car fan out there. I have my feeling it will raise the bar for competition in many ways. I'm looking forward to both this game and how it will be a game changer for most realistic car games after this.
So it would be a shame if this game flukes to be honest.
It'll come out. They are just trying to force so much into the game is the reason it's taking so long. I think they should of left the nascar type racing out of the game. If they want to focus on that type of racing then they should release a GT: Nascar or something. Same with Forza 3. I never use the Nascars, never even driving one in the game yet, don't plan on it.
Yeah, but hey - this fall is a great fall for all of us gamers. Coming way to many great titles and such from now to end of November, so got enough to have fun with there!

Ehhh, not so great for 360 gamers. In fact, I don't know of many HUGE titles that are worth mention for either PS3 or 360.
Fallout: New Vegas, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, CoD: Black Ops, Fable 3 (360 only), and Halo: Reach (360 only) but that's about it. Nothing really to shout about. Gaming in general has been pretty lame this year.
I for one am looking forward to 2011 and hoping dearly that it brings us some superb entertainment.

Will put up my glasses when I'm back from Walmart later on with a new thread, will list up my findings. There is some hidden gems that are being released on both consoles. I will also add in the hyped games, but the list is actually quite nice - just took me some time finding all those gems.

I mean there are games like The Force Unleashed 2 and Castlevania coming out but those aren't HUGE titles. I only listed the ones that could sell enough copies to make platinum hits or be considered for GOTY.
