Just picked it up & plan on getting some gameplay in tonight. I hear it's a mix of COD and BFBC2
Anyone playing yet .... Campaign? Multiplayer? Thoughts?
I wouldn't go that far to say it's a mix of anything. The game mechanics are completely different. There are aspects that I liked and disliked. Most of my complaints were animation-related, however. Overall, I would say the official review didn't do it justice but I can see why they rated it so low. I never base any of my purchases off of official reviews anyways. Editors can't decide what I like/dislike for me.
Anyways, I feel like the game has quite a bit to offer. Once you start the multiplayer, it's straight up warfare. Gun battles and straight up base-snagging strategy up the wazoo. Sniping in this game is practically useless. I felt there were a lot more idiots playing this game as well.
The single player is most definitely the best part of the game with the intro sucking you in at the get go. It's graphic and detailed but not exactly graphically inclined (as in image). I would say give it a try. Worse case scenario, sell it on eBay just like I did with my copy of Wack Ops.

I heard it is bad, but the concept sounds like my dream game... I might buy it later. BFBC 2 is the best shooter hands down though. I actually use TACTICS in that game instead of just being trigger happy.
It's really not bad moreso than its just different. The mechanics take a bit of getting used to but after that It's pretty enjoyable. It plays more like BFBC2 than anything and just the dedicated servers alone and none of the BS lag like in Blackops is worth the price of admission.

I love playing on the dedicated servers. It sucks that they didn't anticipate the large crowds flocking to the game. For now, we'll have to deal with just rolling solo online until they get more up. Lag free, the way to be. Can't wait for Gears 3.
