Anyone into MMORPG games and has played Rift before? I am on the fence about buying this game, everything I hear about it is great, I just need a little push to buy it. Been playing WOW since the beta, but I have just been too bored with it lately.

I don't have it personally, my system is lacking greatly in teh video card department.

My good friend of mine has it and it has finally been the nail in the coffin of WoW for him. Beside him really enjoying the game itself and the whole world he is very impressed with the graphics when compared to WoW.

I will hopefully someday get a new video card, but in all reality I might not have the cash until The Old Republic comes out. Then who will play any other MMO once that FINALLY drops?

I haven't bought the final release but I was in the beta. Personally I found it pretty underwhelming. It didn't really contain any innovative features that awed me, it was more of a mesh of some of the positive features of existing MMO's but nothing new or exciting so I took a pass on buying it. If there's a free trial, you can judge for yourself.

I think it might be better for me to just wait then for The Old Republic to come out and not waste money on buying a game I am so on the fence about. If Rift had a free trial I wouldn't think twice about trying it, but usually recently released MMORPG games wont have a free trial for a while. But who knows when The Old Republic will come out, it has been pushed back so many times its ridiculous.

is it the same standard 50$ for the game and 15$ month or is it free to play monthly? im interested in trying this game out but none of my friends have it and havent heard anything good nor bad about it.

Yes, basically. I think if you get your hands on a collector's box ($70?) they let you do $10 a month. The game is good, but the thing that kills many MMOs is the community or lackthereof. I am personally holding out for SWTOR.

I have Rift, and I LOVE it. Everyone I know that has played it feels the same way. I miss my WoW toons, and I had some I was really focused on leveling, but I'm not sure when I'm going to get back to them because I'm so into Rift. I even have friends who made fun of me for playing WoW that are on it.

I have three main toons right now:
Kaylaina - Faeblight - Defiant
Kyrianna - Faeblight - Defiant
Raiynne - Faeblight - Guardian
