The PS Vita is supposed to come out in the US in February. Anybody interested? A lot of people like to slam the PSP, but I got a lot of use out of mine. I've been stockpiling games since they won't be around much longer. Anyway, this footage of Uncharted on PS Vita (stupid name, by the way) looks AMAZING!!

I just heard about it this weekend on wikipedia. I don't really have any opinion about it. Never really cared for the PSP (was a nintendo kid), and hated the UMD (seemed like a bad ... thing? to me).
I don't really know, I'd have to re-read the wiki page to base an opinion on it (as we all know that all valid opinions are created in the vast knowledge of wikipedia).

I probably won't get one. I've had two PSP's ...sold the first one cause i didn't play it much..then bought another one thinking i would play it more because i travel a good bit...and now i'm back to hardly ever playing it. ...however being that i'm a God of War fan it was worth the investment just to play the two GoW games on there.
With that said i'm actually on the fence about selling my PSP now....even though i won't get much for it.
Does Game Stop take PSP's in on trade?

I'm sure Gamestop takes them still, but I've heard stories of around $10-$15 worth of credit for them.
As for the original topic, I got it when it first came out. Once they got hacked, I loaded emulators on mine and never bought a game ever again. With the new phones handling emulators just fine, I rarely ever touch my PSP anymore as it'd just be an additional item to carry.
I have no interest in the Vita.

I watched the vids in the OP and looks pretty cool. I like the back touchscreen idea. Seems like a good way to use the touchscreen without your fingers blocking your view. Though, I don't really see myself buying one.

Picked up one too after much debate, and reading what NYCHitmn1 had to say.
Definitely happy with it so far...except NEAR seems to detect me as being in Japan...which I certainly am not, unless SW Ontario was captured recently.

Don't feel bad, I pickup all kinds of crazy signals from NEAR. When I play Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, I get opponents from Japan that straight whoop my ass. I decided that playing online isn't for me anyways (in that game). It is full of these cheesy ass fighters that just corner you and pummel you with ridiculous combos and you can't even get one hit in.

Hmmm, maybe NEAR is all part of a Sony conspiracy to help Japanese gamers whoop us North Americans!
So far I've been playing Little Deviants (not a bad game in small doses for me - shows off the back touch panel well), Virtual Tennis 4 (pretty damn slick for a handheld game), and some of the AR games. Planning to pick up Uncharted as well since I loved the ones on PS3.

I have Uncharted, but haven't played it much. The controls are pretty cool though. I love how you can tell Drake to climb a wall with finger gestures on the screen. You'll find out for yourself soon enough, I suppose.
I purchased FFIV Complete from the PS Store, and that has been taking up a majority of my time when I'm not trying to get better at UMvsC3.
I am absolutely hooked on Super Stardust Delta!!!!!
I never played the PS3 version and had very little interest in picking it up for Vita, but every list of launch title reviews kept raving about it, so I figured why not download it for the $10.
It is so much fun, and completely addicitive. It used the dual sticks extremely well, the controls are tight, and the integration with the touch and motion controls are excellent without feeling gimicky! Worth a download.
Also, just thinking, anyone want to exchange PSN names? Always looking to expand my friends list on the PS3/Vita for gaming/leaderboards.

My tag is the same as my XBL and AF tag lol. Add me!
Picked one up. I absolutely love it. I am completely addicted to Lumines. Super Stardust is also awesome. Uncharted is pretty good, but not great. Rayman Origins is great, if you havent played the console version and like platformers i definitely recommend that.
My psn ID is GTP_takethewall, add me. just add AF in a message with it or something so i know.
I have seen them in the stores but will sony back this game system or will they treat it like the red headed stepchild that was called the PSP. I really liked the psp but seemed they let it sit on the back burner too long.

I'm curious of the same thing, but only time will tell.

I agree it's an awesome console. Mine is Kie723. I mainly play Fifa and Uncharted.
Honestly, the only games I am looking forward to is the MGS collection and Final Fantasy X HD. Other than that, I play the occasional MLB The Show, but it mostly collects dust.

I don't have the scratch to buy one, but I was thinking it looked quite cool and have been reading some amazon reviews. Not digging all the negative comments, sounds like a poor line up?

Godspeed, they have yet to release any information on the FFXHD remake aside from what has been said at the original announcement.
Persona4 is one of the successors of "MEGAMI SHINSEI".
The anime is quite popular right now.
But its one of those titles that you will never play unless you know the earlier titles.
Much easier to get into compared to the previous games in the series though!!

In general the Sony platform has been lacking in recent years. The PSP was promised to have many many titles with online capabilities but only.10 games have online matchmaking. Most don't even have dlc, one of the biggest games that should have seen this was MHFU. because of the insane difficulty curve it's very hard to find players near you to do quests. Now on the vital they've dropped the ball again by not having strong, original launch titles and releasing a small psx library. I hope for their sake they add more to it, as it stands without drastic measures the vital is dead in the water, hemorrhaging money.

I mean.. they have stated that their full intention is to add more to the library in terms of PSV and PSX titles. Truthfully, the future for Vita looks bright, but it can only extend as far as Sony allows it to. Judging from Sony's track record, I can understand why people have been skeptical to purchase the device.
I would really like to see the Vita succeed, but I think its been caught in the middle of the internal struggle within a company that is very resistant to change, but is losing a lot of money. Time will tell if the Vita survives the axe or not, but I'm skeptical that it will survive. They need to show the will to put a lot of money into developing high quality games for it, or it will wither on the vine. They also need to make an effort to kick start more third party development.

I'm on the fence about buying one of these. I want to get it basically for Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, but I need to know there are more decent games for it than that.
