Bought it last night on my way home from work... I was bored, and the wife had to work late. So, I started playing it for about half an hour, untill she called, and said she was on her way home... X( F***me. I never get to have fun. lol.
It was pretty cool. I like the blowing up of the buildings, trees, etc. Very impressive.
It's no COD, but it is still very entertaining.

Mine comes in the mail tomorrow. I am happy its not like COD. Yes its a FPS, and Yes its modern, but thats where the similarities end. Its more of a realistic FPS, like Operation Flashpoint 2 (amazing game btw). Gameplay is amazing, campaign is pretty long (assuming since BFBC was about an hour and a half per mission), and distruction 2.0 is amazing. You have no where to hide
COD has become just another Halo where all the 12 year olds with short attention spans play all day long on their Xboxes since Infinityward abandoned PC gamers.
This, on the other hand, is a real game for real gamers. Finally something good for PC. I've been playing the beta since the day it came out, and I just ordered a copy from Newegg. I'm extremely excited about this one.
Ok guys, got the game today, its everything I expected and more! Here is a video I made, just some multiplayer action (me getting owned, i think it was my 2nd game, still was used to BFBC, but much better now )
I loved the 360 version but the controls required in a Battlefield game simply don't translate well to a console. Consoles also attract players with short attention spans and 12 year olds that don't understand that there's more to a game than spawn raping people with knives and maintaining a kill to death ratio. I'll always have a PC to play these games. I haven't turned on my 360 in months after MW2 got full of morons.
i have played every battlefield game ever created with all expansions... i agree with your comment about it "it's no COD" and i love it that way, the spawning is COD sucks, BF series has always had some strategy to it, not run and gun. i absolutely love this game and had to OC my GPU to get to 40 fps on med lol but WELL worth it... for all you out there thinking about it, this game is very CPU demanding as well, there are alot of physics calculations going on since almost anything can be destroyed, so make sure you have a good CPU, the more cores the better, i have 2.5Ghz dual core intel 9300 OC'd to 2.9Ghz and thinks are finaly working right in this game... love it love it love it...
add me to your friends if anyone wants to get some games in... my clan and i have a server @ Casual Gamers, go check it out, it's on full rotation of everything
I will be making a video tonight on the Jungle map (I have only had the game for a day, dont know the map names yet...). Anything specific anyone would like me to cover?
One issue that really bothered me in the beta was the yaw speed of the helicopters was ungodly slow. Have they updated the heli controls that you know of? Id fly past something I'm shooting at (a tank or mobile AA let's say), hit it a few times, then turn for another pass, and the damn helicopter would turn SO SLOW that I would be blown up before I could even get half way turned around. This wasn't an issue in BF2, you could circle strafe with the helis once you got the controls down. I used to be the guy that could evade jets in the Cobra by doing loops and rolls. I feel restrained with the new flight controls (real Apaches can do loops!).
I'm practically foaming at the mouth for my copy to get here. I'm not going to finish any of my engineering homework this weekend.
I've been playing the single player and it looks like I'm hitting a bottleneck with my processor. My motherboard is three years old and my processor is a year and a half old. Everything else is up to date so I put in an order for a new motherboard and a slick quad core. Should be just fine on Thursday when it all shows up!
Ahhh, wellI thought I fixed one of my monitors, and its still screwed up. This monitor had S-Video input, so I would capture using a splitter. Turns out its not fixed, so I am going to be getting a VGA to S-Video converter because I play my xbox on a 22" VGA monitor. Till then, little to no videos
I'm so excited, my new hardware shows up tomorrow, and so far the game is AMAZING, I just can't play it all that effectively in multiplayer with my current processor.
I probably shouldn't have ordered this stuff this week, I still have a lab for my Calc 3 class, an exam, and a project to get done by Thursday.
I think i'm going to buy this game, I've never played the first one but always wanted to try it out, doesn't look so bad..
You will NOT be disappointed. Just like all Battlefield games, BC2 actually takes some thought and skill to play. There's bullet drop physics at long distances, regular spawn points rather than totally random ones, tons of vehicles, HUGE maps, and TONS of unlockables that keep you wanting to play multiplayer. I still feel that BF2 is the best online FPS of all time, but this game may actually take that prize away.
The single player is very linear, but if you take it for what it is, a humorous little story of four soldiers better suited as cannon fodder, I think you'll find it enjoyable. Battlefield was never meant to be a single player game anyway. The character development is both really funny and well done, with all kinds of racy jokes and jabs at real life pop culture and occurrences you can relate to. By the end of the first game I couldn't wait to play another 6-7 hour campaign with these guys, and this delivers well with some nice new features and some of the most beautiful graphics I've ever seen in a game.
Meh, these games are never good on consoles because the console crowd is all about mindless shooters like MW2 rather than tactical ones that require any shred of thought whatsoever.
That said, I just installed my quad core and I am blown away by the difference. I'm on max settings at 1080p getting a consistent 40FPS with peaks of up to 70FPS.
Bad Company 2 is teh sex!
I've enjoyed most Battlefield games from 1942, Vietnam, BF2, till this one.
And they did it again. Splendid graphics combined with awesome "not-to-realistic" gameplay.
Playing it on PC (as most fps games should be) so feel free to add me if you want.

I played and beat the single player campaign, but I'm wondering if anyone has problems connecting and playing online? I'm running it on a refurbished 60 GB PS3. I haven't tried it in a while...maybe now that I've beat GOW3...however the last time I tried to connect it loaded.....and loaded...and loaded...and then proceeded to kick me without any chance to play. Anyone having similar problems?? If so..any suggestions?!?!

They updated their servers March 1st. Try again...
I'm happy with MW2, but BC2 just looks so much better!!!!
It is.
You know how MW2 has a new map pack you have to pay FIFTEEN ****ING DOLLARS for? I signed on to BC2 (PC) and the newest maps are already there. For free. Not only is the game better, Dice also doesn't try to rape your wallet at every turn for a mediocre game.
PS3 I have no idea. With PC as soon as I heard they would be taking every single multiplayer feature out to make the PC multiplayer as terrible as Xbox matchmaking, I never gave it a second thought. Xbox is where their market is, and they're just bending you guys over with the pricing. Two of the maps aren't even new, they're just from COD4!
I play this on Xbox, and used to play Mw2 religiously. I switched to this game because Mw2's bs was getting to be too much for me and sold Mw2 the next day after getting this. But now I'm letting my friend borrow BFBC2 and I'm back on Mw2 because BFBC2 is just... too slow paced for me... Don't get me wrong, awesome, awesome game. Which Mw2 would have done destrucible buildings and all that but, unfortunately not.

Hardcore rush isn't slow paced at all.
EDIT: So I'm getting pretty good at sniping pilots out of helicopters now. 5 kills with one shot just feel great.
I really hate Hardcore mode. It's just a bunch of pansies sitting in bushes in random spots of the map w/ snipers lol.
Doesn't surprise me on Xbox. On PC once you find a good server with good players its a total blast. I never even bother with non hardcore servers anymore. I like the more realistic feel of it, as well as a .338 round (used in real life to shoot through engine blocks, and can go through 5 layers of body armor and still kill at over 1000 yards) actually taking someone down in one shot. Nothing pisses me off more than sniping in non hardcore, placing a perfect center of mass shot on someone, and having them sprint away, or having to unload an entire magazine of .223 into someone to kill them.

i got this on pc
i feel really bad at the game..everyone is better than me lol
i need to practise abit more!
Keep working at it! This game actually takes skill to be good at. Bullets drop like they do in real life. And most of all, work as a team! Battlefield has ALWAYS been a team game, and when you try to play like Modern Warfare (Or Counterstrike for the older BF games), you will ALWAYS fail.
If anything, be the squad medic. For every resuscitation of a squad member, you automatically get 80 points. It's a fast way to unlock powerful guns and to level up.
