I haven't played D3 since the last time I replied on this thread (June 10th or soon after). I have no interest in it, which I'd sad because I wanted to play D3 since I heard a rumor about it a long time ago (probably 5+ years ago), back when I played Diablo 2.
An acquaintance of mine who does not work, and still lives at home with his parents has made about $2,000 from selling items on the USD D3 marketplace. It's ridiculous.
Rumor has it that he'll be spending it on building a newer PC.

Nych, how are you getting on in game? Currently I have 3 chars Inc a 60dh & 54 barb, I'm just having trouble finding any decent gear.
Dude, I haven't touched D3 since before they released 1.0.3 lol. I haven't had time to sit down and actually play anything besides when I'm commuting to/from work.
Am really enjoying this game its a really big improvement over D2. But hate the fact that u have to play it online even in single player mode. Hav died multiple times due to lag.

I do agree that they should have made a single player mode (offline). Any progression you made would be synced to the servers once you connected to multiplayer. At least it makes sense to do it that way in my head.
Syncing offline data to online would create hackers. If you've ever played Diablo 2 on Open BNet, you know what happens! People will create hacked characters and use them to gain a huge advantage, including selling items that they didn't even find, but created with a cheat.
A single player mode would be cool though, not that I would play D3 again, but the user wouldn't have to deal with any lag while playing by themselves.
The background music and other sounds in the game added major taste to the game. The Tristram music was great. I heard it in a youtube video i watched about a year ago, and it gave me chills too.
I also like Act 1 Rouge Encampment music in Diablo 2. It reminds me of the days i was a PvPer. And the sound of opening a trapped chest, or gold dropping.
Don't know why but Diablo 1 was a very creepy game. It gave me chills that no game since have even come close to. Might have been due to the fact that I played it when I was like 9 though.

I actually had a bash last night for an hour. My DH got his first Paragon level, man they take time to get. but yea, its ok, i guess, something to do, along with New Vegas and CS:S
Daiblo 3 is amazing the graphics and effects on skills are so good and story is new and have a lot of twist. I playing this game daily its an addictive game.
Don't get me wrong, the story was great and very different.
It's just...I don't know, I guess it was sort of like easy mode?
1~60, completed hell/inferno, without dying once.
I remember in D2, dying at LEAST once or twice, due to the enemies always being immune to my main skill/spell, due to bad luck I suppose.
I may or may not replay it shortly, as a different character. I suppose a witch doctor is just way too powerful?
Edit:
Another thing I wasn't keen on, though, was not being able to allocate my own stat points. I miss that about D2. I made a MELEE SORC in D2. Why? Because I could 18k~20k one hand damage, ftw.

White rings and such.. haha. Yeah, it definitely would be nice if there was a way to produce an offline game so that there's no way to hack the online version.
I just needed to share my thoughts on D3, (note these are coming from a D2 addict):
Diablo 3 looks great, is fun to play, has amazing sound effects (try to play witch doctor without smiling), but in the end of the day is not up to "Diablo/Blizzard" quality.
Did the lead designer never play diablo 2!? The beauty of D2 is the play cycle:
Make a new character-> rush them-> experiment with the skill tree -> gain cool looking items -> fight cows -> Get to hell and decide to make a new character -> start over.
By not having a skill tree and removing all incentives to remake the same type of character, the designers failed to make a diablo.
(Still is a fun game, but has the quality of an EA title)

I think D3 looks like crap. The graphics look old for its release date. 2D graphics are wonderful, especially in an isometric perspective. I dont remember sound details when i was playing, but i still remember the sound of gold dropping on Diablo 2. And opening a Chest. And the sound of a wooden mace dropping to the floor. And of course the famous Tristam music.
Certainly not Blizzard quality. It felt like something <insert greedy game studio here> rushed out the week before Christmas.
Diablo 2 wasnt all about rushing and cows though. I remember playing my first character on Closed BNet (a Warrior). It was so much fun, even before i learned about cows and what rushing was. Rushing and Cows is where D2 became an addiction to me. As well as magic finding, before Enigma was created.
I was a serious D2 addict, played a lot in college.
I have D3, I like it. It's not the same game as D2 tho.
I think Blizzard did what they thought necessary to make D3 a stand alone game, not a large expansion Pac for D2.
My .02 and I continue to play when I can find time.

Bought this game since i was a D2 fan back in my college days. I play occasionally but now that I have a 9-6 job and a wife, not too much time to spend on this game for me. Still a great game though.
