Never played the GoW series. Always wanted too, I actually picked up a PS3 just for the game, but it wasn't backwards compatible and I didn't feel like waiting forever for the game. I might buy a friends off him though, not sure.
I did buy the soundtrack this morning though for $1.99. It's alright.

I plan on getting it. Just finished the first 2 for the first time, loved them both! And SoulTerror, they remastered the first 2 in HD on a single Blu-ray disc, so you can play them even without a backwards compatible PS3. And it's only something like $30-40 for both games, smoking deal!
Ya they came out with that after I had gotten ride of my PS3. My boss was telling me about it, but I had already sold it. Oh well, I might get a PS3. I really don't want to get another system for just the BlueRay and a couple games.
I have been waiting for this game since before I was born. LOL. But seriously, I have been waiting for this game for a long time. I pre-ordered the ultimate edition and am staying up all night just to be the first (hopefully) to pick it up.
If you can't tell, the GoW series is my all time favorite video game series EVER!
I hope it does end up like kill zone 2 did. I was so stoked! I waited what seemed like for ever for it and it was a disappointment to me... It was good, but i expected so much better. The biggest flaw in the game i could find was that one stab with the knife could kill... when sometimes it took multiple shots from a gun to kill...
Definitely going to pick up the GoW 1&2 collection, as I never played them, and FOR SURE will pick up GoW3.
The hype on this one looks well deserved.

I played the demo too and was very impressed, but after playing the game today, the demo does not do the game justice. It is freakin' amazing!
Like I said in the other thread, the first 15 minutes were so awesome.

OK, finished the game, great game, definitely worth playing! Seriously thinking about throwing the first games back in and playing through them again. Probably going to take a little break though, I need time for all the awesomeness to settle.
I just beat GOW3 this past weekend. Amazing game!!! Really makes full use of everything the PS3 has to offer. Loved the game sequences and how they place the key qeues off to the side of the screen so you don't miss any of the action. FANTASTIC!!! I would highly recommend that everyone should pick it up. Even if you've never played the GOW series.

My coworker brought that in yesterday. I was amazed and I really want this game now. I didn't even want a PS3 until yesterday. Now, I am trying to find the best deal on one.
i loved God of War 3 and got he ultimate edition for my birthday and it is amazing.
im planning on starting god of war 1 and 2 soon, just need to find a good few hours in my busy schedule then let the mayhem begin
I got it. I am really mad now. I have had it for almost a week and I haven't had any time to play it.
I also have no idea of what is going on because it seems like some sort of continuation.
well it is God of War '3', they are a continuous trilogy from the first one
buy the first and second, im sure you can find a cheap copy of the double pack or learn on wikipedia the back story but it would be best to get God of War 1& 2 cause they were classic

Yep, I have a friend who owned a video rental store and he went out of business. He had just bought two brand new PS3's and gave it to me for such a cheap price because I am a friend and he just wanted to get something from it. LOL I got it like two months before GoW came out, but was thinking of getting one anyways.
DL'd the demo for ps3 a few months ago having never played any of the GoWs. It was awesome so I bought the GoW 1&2 pack. As soon as I finish those I will get III.

I think it's a bold statement, but as I am playing through these games, it might also be one that I agree with. It's been so long since a game was so much fun. The graphics caught my eye, but the game play has made me want to participate rather than just watch a movie of it. In my defense, I did state that that was in my opinion. However, I am a bold person and make bold statements (even when they are just my opinion).
I have played Halo (all of them) and yes they were good games, but not one was as much fun as GoW. I have played Gears of War (both of them) and again, yes they were good games, but not as fun as GoW. I could go on and on like this, but am just really don't feel like doing it.
GoW is, IMO, the best game series ever because it incorporates awesome game play and adventure right into the story. The bosses and battles are great. The puzzles, even better. I have played the first two games through at least 25-30 times each. I have never been able to play a game that many times all the way through and not get sick of it.
Again, this is all my opinion. I cannot speak for anyone else because I have no right to. But, IMO, GoW is the best game series ever!

Just decided to restart the whole saga again today, started GoW1, and I'll just go on though all 3 of them again, can't wait! Doing it on Hard this time.
I really wasn't interested in GOW3 until I tried it at my boyfriend's house the other day. Just...WOW. That game is GORGEOUS and I really wanted to swipe his copy and lock myself in my room until I finished the game.

It's an immense game, some of the best graphics seen on ANY console to date, and better IMHO than Uncharted2 (which was also immense).
Who is buying a PS3 for one game? There are Tonnes of PS3 exclusives that are truely immense. Anyone that considers themselves are real gamer should have a PS3...
