Default Most Epic Game Music

Hi, again folks. Prinny here!

So I'm sitting on youtube, listening to some of my favorite boss music ever. Then it hit me.

Why not post HERE to see what epic boss music YOU folks like?

Of course, it doesn't have to be JUST boss music, but you get the idea.

Here's how I would (ideally) like this to work. Post the name of the song, the game it is from, and a youtube link to said song. If you want to include what part of the game it is in, cool, but be sure to respect others and use spoiler tags, if needed!

So I'll start this one off (obviously.)

Bayonetta - The Greatest Jubilee

No spoiler tags needed for MY post, but beware of the YouTube comments, just in case.

Bayonetta Soundtrack: The Greatest Jubilee (Final Boss Theme) - YouTube

Also, mods. This is dealing with Games and Music, so I hope this went to the right avenue. If not, move away!

Can't be specific but the background music in AvP (the original) game was awesome. Very fitting.

I really like the 'level up' skyrim chant. And of course nothing beats the sound when you open a chest in any of the Zelda games. Or maybe the Mario music when you go underground in the tubes.

Speaking of Zelda...I really enjoyed the Bolero of Fire and the Song of Time in Ocarina of time. Learned both on my guitar many many years ago.

I've always loved the Homeworld 2 music. This is just the tutorial mission.

The Bastion soundtrack is also great, as is the Frozen Synapse soundtrack.

I think Skyrim has one of the best scores if not the best score that I've ever seen in a video game. Not to mention it spawns things like this

Skyrim- Peter Hollens & Lindsey Stirling - YouTube

I've always loved the music from the Final Fantasy series. Nobuo Uematsu is not only my favourite video game composer, he's probably my favourite composer of all time.

You're Not Alone and Melodies of Life from Final Fantasy IX are just 2 of MANY great songs by Nobuo

Also, Lindsey Sterling is awesome and hott and that Skyrim song was sick to watch

The background of Mass Effect was spacey, I've heard it used in Horizon and other shows about the Curiosity rover (mission to Mars) a few times. The entire music from Mass Effect Mass Effect Music Mix Of Legend - YouTube

I also liked the background strum from diablo (I haven't tried Diablo 3, I'm talking about Diablo 2), when your in Tristram.Diablo I & II Soundtrack - Tristram Village - YouTube

Planescape: Torment - that had a few catchy tunes. This is just the title music as an example (no where near the catchiest of them Planescape: Torment - Main Title (music) - YouTube. you should be able to find them all from there if you like it. If you don't, then play the game (still my favourite game) and you will...

Flatout: Ultimate Carnage - brilliant soundtrack, highly recommended. FlatOut Ultimate Carnage Soundtracks - YouTube The game is awesome as well, If you think it starts slow (which caused the tragedy that is Flatout 3) Then just upgrade your car a bit...

I've got loads, I could go on for ages!

I've always loved this from Mass Effect 2.

This always sends a shiver down my spine.

The AC2 soundtrack is another favourite, with this being the pick of the bunch for me.

The Main theme from Republic Commando is one me and one of the boys at work were speaking about the other day too - Immense.

Worth a go. That or Assassins Creed is my favourite franchise.

Halo is full of epic music. The music from the Halo 3 announcement trailer is another of my favourites. In fact, the piano bit about a minute ten in is my SMS tone.

I loved that, a couple of other greats I found by Lindsey, Thanks to you:

Game of Thrones - My favourite TV show - Not as good as the original
Shadows - Lindsey Stirling - Follow the Shadow my friend (quote from Andor's Trail, Best RPG out there)

I really like AC, awesome setting, graphics and dialogue - The music really fits. I like the Halo tune as well, but it doesn't have that familiarity that's gained from playing a game - I'll check it out one day, or wait for the movie...

I think the 8-bit days produced some of the most memorable music ever. Yes it was repetitive but you would be humming it for days.

Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog are still imprinted on me. And those of you that knew the Turbo Grafix ... MILITARY MADNESS.

edit: I know these are not 'epic' but they bring back lots of happy memories and isn't that epic?

My favorite opening theme has to be GTA-VC.

Love the old school loading screen at the beginning too.

Also LA Noire wasn't the best game ever but was given great atmosphere by the awesome soundtrack. Main Theme.

The white space remixes on some of the Sonic Generations levels are pretty immense, this is probably my fave:

I think your point is voided out by how EASY of a battle it was. Unless you are referring to the angel sephiroth....then you are indeed right.

Although, he is nothing compared to Kefka most evil villain. Ever.

Oh. I really liked the battle music for bosses in Lunar 2. Great RPG. I would highly suggest it.

Every time I hear the opening to Oblivion, it makes me feel epic

My favorite Video Game track has to come from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest. Stickerbush Symphony from Bramble Blast

I'm going with final fantasy series prob 7 being my best. Kingdom hearts 2 also had great music. But Zelda ocarin of time when you learn the songs for the flute might take the prize here. Legend of gran dia also had good music.

Homeworld's music in general is just awesome. Heck, a lot of the 2004 BSG battle music seems to take its cue from Homeworld.

Although, IMO, every 3D space RTS player should have a soft spot for Hiigara.

Halo 1's score (and the slightly modified variants found in the sequels) has always been my favorite. Especially the score that plays in the end escape sequence of the first game.

Second favorite: Vanguard (MMO). Vanguard: Saga of Heroes - Main Theme - YouTube But each area had it's own little theme. Some of them were quite good.

But I was also a big fan of the Zelda theme, and especially the Ocarina of Time score.

Agreed on the Warthog Run, that variation is immense.

The more I listen to the Halo 4 soundtrack, the more I like. This piece in particular:

The part it's used in game is really good and from about 5 mins onwards where it kicks it up a bit is incredible.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Nuff said.

Star Fox for SNES. Still brings me to tears hearing the Space Armada level music

I love you! Thank god there are other FF8 fans!

One of my favorite tracks from that epic game

Entering Ultimecia's castle gave you a theme that absolutely put your hairs on end

And probably the best freaking song and cutscene from the game

And of course, how it all started....

Some great games mentioned for music. I was just thinking about this recently too

Shadowrun for SNES.

I might say Phantasy Star 1 and 2 for Sega systems.

I just looked at Kill Bill Vol 1 and the part where the chick goes to Japan to get the sword.....the music playing when the guy shows her all those swords....I said it sounds like something from Final Fantasy...lol.

I didnt watch the rest of the movie, was too tired...I just wanted to hear the music....lol.

Boy, do I agree with that!

The Witcher II soundtrack is fantastic, I listen to it often, but Assassins Creed II is simply beautiful - hauntingly beautiful. I adore it.

I also love the music from most of the Elder Scrolls games, and original The Sims.

The best part of the game, in my opinion.

Some of the soundtrack to Quake II was pretty awesome IMO.

After going back and playing OoT again, I really can't think of a game that has a stronger sound track than that one. So far every tune has been catchy as hell.

sound:10/10

Some of the songs in the Mass Effect series. They may have not been on an "epic" scale just by listening to it alone, but when you play the game and hear the music in the backround, it makes the game all the more better.
