The second gun I got was a rifle with explosive rounds. I'm now level 10 and *just* got rid of it. I wasn't always using it, but I did use it quite a bit.
I'm guessing the loot is eveyone's favorite part of this game, it's mine.

GO BRONCOS AND ROLLLLLLL TIDE!!!
I decided that I'm not going to hit up *every* side quest this play through, so my next one has a bit of 'new' to it.
And I couldn't complete one
2nd play-through aka True Vault Hunter Mode is no joke. You should definitely be doing all the side quests during the first. It literally has been a rude awakening lol.
How does that 2nd mode work. I was thinking I'd save some for the play through with the siren. Maybe not now
For each character you beat the game with, you will unlock TVHM. It is basically a much more difficult playthrough of the 1st. The loot becomes a million miles better than anything you would ever find in the 1st playthrough as well. Let me put it like this, I had a legendary (orange) pistol that I replaced with a green about 5 minutes into TVHM mode.

Cool, so if I started a new character now, it'd be okay. I'll have to run through TVHM with zer0. I think I'll probably try the siren as well. I liked Lilith last time.
I finally managed to get a second go on it last night! what a game!
Thought i'd been on it about 5 mins - looked at the clock and half and hour had passed!
Need to get some serious time on it though as I'm only up to level 6
Matters not. Those explosive SMG's are inaccurate as hell. A slight accuracy boost still would not compare to the damage output of two shotguns. Have one use the slag element, and another could be a different element or regular. However, I would expect most to use corrosive or shock.
The highest DPS output for the skill trees is primary Brawn with some secondary points in Gunzerk.
No. She. You use two of the same you get boosted DMG. Keep firing makes you more accurate the longer you shoot. There is no possible way a pistol will out DMG anything their cap is just too low. That's not to say they don't have a use though.

What good is an SMG with 800 dmg vs a pistol (revolver) with 4000+? Me thinks not much. Especially once you consider it being an elemental weapon. There's a reason why they recommend using dual pistols or dual shotguns. However, I'm not in the gunzerk tree, so I don't get all the benefits of gunzerking for mass amounts of time.
You don't have to play the class the way it was intended to be played. Your game, your decision. I just wouldn't expect to join a MP room thinking your going to get dibs on SMG's and other weapons before classes that use them primarily. Unless you're into ninja looting, which is also your prerogative.

Never fancied Borderlands even though Fallout 3 is my favorite game on 360. Is it similar? Thinking of trading in Resident Evil 6 cause it's crap so might get B2 instead. Do you need to play Borderlands 1 first or are they stand alone stories?

I personally would recommend playing B1, but you don't really have to. The only similarities between F3 and B1/2 is the post-apocalyptic environment. I never was a fan of Fallout, so I might be biased.

I never played borderlands 1 but have recently bought borderlands 2,
As far as the stories are concerned I think they're mostly stand alone.
I'm managing fine and its definitely an easy game to get addicted to but a friend of mine that has played borderlands 1 seems to be rocketing ahead of me!
This game is definitely at its best when you are playing with friends.
Quite a few of mine have the game, but we tend to play at different times, which means that most of the time I'm playing my world on my own.
The mission are long as well, so if you are going to be sitting down for 10 minutes here and there to game, I wouldn't recommend this game. But if you're prone to a 2 or 3 hour session every few days, this game will serve up a treat.

Thats exactly the problem I'm having with this game,
I'm really enjoying it but im only getting 30 odd mins on it every few days which is really annoyin me and making progress quite slow.

@Thinks56 I believe that ninja looting is when you steal loot from a team mate with ninja like reflexes or skills. Correct me if I'm wrong of course...
I haven't played in a couple of days. I think I'm level 11 or 12.

Have checked the net ninja looting is people running in and stealing the loot from the kills you make,
Should have been obvious to me from the name but i still havent been online yet so i assumed loot locked to whoever made the kill

Nope, loot is public to whomever is in the (game) party with you. If I see it, they see it, and they can take it. I had some legendary items jacked from me off of Terramorphus, which really pissed me off.

Like I said in my other thread, I play on a 19" monitor in my room with 1 controller, so local co-op just isn't an option for me if I buy this game.
Is it still worth it for 90% Single Player and the occasional 10% Xbox Live Co-Op with the cousin every once in a while?
He has the game and I don't know how often he will play it, but I can guarantee that if I buy it, he will play with me at least once.
Still worth the $60?
I'm up for giving out my gamertag and playing with others who have the game,
if I end up buying it.

Which is why I'm on the edge. I'm usually a loner when it comes to gaming, aside from random matchmaking on Xbox Live on games such as Halo Reach, Battlefield 3, Assassin's Creed Revelations, etc.

Its not so bad if you pick a decent spec. I used to be brawn, switched to gunlust. Now all the things die again.
I hope they give this game a serious overhaul in future updates. So many bugs, so much rushed content. It's saddening to think borderlands 1 was not like this at launch.

BL1 was far from perfect. I really don't think there's a game out there today upon release that doesn't have some kind of issues. I'm just happy that the (insignificant) issues in BL2 don't affect gameplay and/or game experience. The game will get better in time, that is for sure.
Depend in on platform they aren't insignificant. I really wish you'd look around before talking. I spend everyday that I play borderlands also talking with the community.
1. BNK-3R will cause a game freeze during death animation sometimes
2. Game will freeze if you try to re-enter the warriors room after killing him sometimes.
3. Randomly at any point on any of your saves all your BA rank and skins/heads will be wiped and you will be unable to reacquire them
4. Small, lighter, faster will reduce an infinity weapons magazine to 0. Making all guns of that type useless for mechro.
5. Keep it pipping does nothing.
6. In multiplayer one mechro losing anarchy due to prematurely reloading might make all mechros in the group lose anarchy.
7. Using quest filtering on PC will cause save files to rapidly increase in size to the point of quick saving freezing the game.
8. Drop tables math is done incorrectly, or at least the whole world feels deceived by it.
9. During gods talon jack may bug and keep his reflective shield after the surveyor is killed.
10. Terramorphous mods will still display after a teammate has picked one up. So if you see a mod but can't pick it up. Someone ninja'd it.
And that's just what I can think of that is actually gameplay pertenant and game ruining.

There's nothing to look around for. It's obvious that the bugs vary from platform to platform, but I was giving you what I have (or have not in this case) experienced. BL2 is the only thing I play on my 360 currently. I have two characters at 50, and a third on it's way. Those who I play with have never come across any of the issues you have posted here. There's no secret that the drops are reduced, but that was intentionally created. In BL1, it was way too easy to get great loot, and even easier to duplicate it.
Actually if you remember, great loot was hard to come by. Just look at greens. In bl1 greens had a lot of crap and redoes. In bl2 you can beat tvhm with greens. There were a lot of junk oranges in bl1 in bl2 I can only really think of situational bad oranges, and the flakker, that gun sucks.
The problem is I don't think its intentional. Its a compound percentage system instead of a normal percentage.
If there's nothing to look around for you really didn't read my post, did you?
I'm seeing comments here bordering on the personal, which is a no-no. Disagreeing on issues is one thing, but please remember that different people on different platforms my well have different experiences.
Too bad that's not what that is. What it is, is gbx decided they were going to implement hardcore mode. Obviously it hasn't yet, but the data is there. It works on all systems and there are ways to get it to trigger intentionally but most have it happen on accident or by playing a pug game. One of the many back draws of gbx outsourcing dlc. There is no off button if it gets turned on.
I got this with my GPU and i gotta say it's a good game. I didn't have anyone to play with so I've started solo with zero. I just think it's different to a lot of other games out there...

Grants man. Hope you enjoy. I play Salvador myself. I don't like Zer0 much

Just found out consoles won't be getting any significant updates until they fix nearly every bug on PC...because consoles charge huge fees to release patches on their network. This means no bee nerf, but also means enemies falling through the floor and BA rank randomly being wiped.
I had a lv36 Texas striker for a bit, also have the bee but that's a shield and really easy to get. I hope they do something about the drop rates, I can't keep farming the warrior with no results.
I wouldn't know, made the mistake of getting bl1 on PC. they refused to release the dlcs for PC until a later date for some reason. so after I beat the game with mord&lili I moved on to fallout3. but getting oranges is really easy in the force dlc just grind quests or slots and buy a nukem.
