Post garminfone and gingerbread

Will the garminfone be receiving the new gingerbread update?

Apparently, with the termination of the Garmin-Asus partnership, there will be no further updates to the firmware of all Garmin-Asus phones (A10, A50, etc).
In short, we're on our own.
Not likely to even get Froyo, let alone Gingerbread, mate.
The last update issued was Eclair.

That's probably a thought shared by many of us Garmin-Asus users.
However, the benefits of the integrated Garmin GPS would offset much of such negatives for me (and i suspect many others, too).
We live in hope that some good soul might offer us "safe" upgrades in time to come. Meanwhile, Eclair is already much better than Donut.
