Thumbs up [APP] Android Tablet Apps - Web's Largest Database of Android Tablet Apps

Hey there, fellas (and ladies!)! Are you tablet owners tired of that fact that the Android Market still does not have a dedicated tablet app section yet? I got tired of that very fast, and I decided, back in January, to open a website that would become the web's largest database providing users with nothing but applications that are designed to work on Android tablets. I've fought and struggled to make everything work just like it should, and finally, I feel that it's in a position where I can open it up to the masses.

I'm here today to present to you my app, which is live on the market right now. This app is called Android Tablet Apps, and, as the title states, you'll be able to browse all of the Android tablet applications That I have added to my website.

You can download the application from the market via this link:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidtabapps.tablink

Please, if you have any comments or suggestions, leave them below, and I will consider them. I am open to anything you have to say.

This app is compatible with both phones AND tablets, running android 2.2+. I didn't feel the need to restrict the app to just tablets, because a lot of us tablet owners also have phones and it would be nice to browse tablet apps sometimes, when you don't have your tablet, right?

Thanks for this, I'm sure this is something tablet users have been crying out for.

I'll move to the dedicated Tablet section, it'll probably be most useful there. If you believe it would be better suited here, let me know and I can move back.

Default Didn't work for me.

I have a Pandigital Supernova and had to install the Android Market manually. A lot of apps say they are not compatible with my device. I was hoping this might solve my problem. But Android Market says THIS app is not compatible with my device. Is there another way I could get the .apk file?

I have been having issues with the market as well. I recently purchsed an Andi-7+ from mytabworld and it's been very good, but I tried to install a guitar tuner app (stroboscopic tuner) that I found on Android market with a computer search, and it won't come up in Android market on my tablet. If I go to the browser page for the app on my tablet and try to force it from there, it tells me my device isn't compatible, even though I am pretty sure it is, as it told me the same thing about the Gstrings tuner but Strings works just fine on my tablet, as I installed it from Amazon market. How do I convince the market that my tablet is actually compatible with apps of this type?

It appears to be non-existent. Have you renamed the app, as it's no longer visible in Android Market?

Hi guys. I removed the application from the Android Market. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I will also give you an explanation.

First, we were unhappy with the direction the app was headed. We want to offer you something convenient and easy to use, but instead it was becoming slow and cumbersome to handle all the requests the app was sending. We're looking for a developer to work with us to create a new and improved application that will read from our databases instead of loading a lightened up web theme. We feel that when creating an app for Android, it should actually feel native to Android, and we didn't feel that our old app was giving that impression.

Second, unfortunately we apparently have a griefer who somehow managed to get over a dozen negative reviews on our application. We understand that part may be normal because everyone can't be pleased with one thing, but the kicker was when these negative reviews ALWAYS managed to leave a spam remark about our competition as well. This was working hand in hand to potentially sabotage what we have created and this coupled with our reasoning above to go ahead and remove the application from the Android Market.

If you're still reading and you have experience with MySQL, fragment development and more, please send me a private message so we can discuss a new and improved version of our application.

I apologize for the delay in responses, we've been focusing on optimizing our web version of our site to provide visitors the fastest and best experience when it comes to researching Android tablet apps.

Thanks for the explanation. I'll see if one of our devs might be able to assist.

You're welcome. This is the first email notification I got about this thread or else I would have come back sooner to assist the others who couldn't get the app installed based on their device versions (the market hd an issue with Tablets running 2.1, 2.2 etc). So, if you guys who had problems read this, I'm sorry!

Jerry,

Sorry to hear about the app problems...EP gave me a heads-up re. this thread.

I myself am not in a position to help you out, you might want to post something in one (or more) of the development forums here at AF to see if there's folks that are knowledgeable and willing to help you.

Not sure if the Application Requests - Android Forums or the main Application Development - Android Forums forum would be the best place to start...

Best of luck!

I think the app development one might just work out. I'll go post there then link to this thread as a backstory. Thanks for your help. If you want, you can lock it now if you don't feel it's necessary to keep it open, then I can make a new thread once/if I get a new app onto the Market.

Just wanted to drop in and let everyone know that I have added a new application to the Android Market located here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidtabapps.tablink

This app is a re-release of my previous app. As of right now, it's simply a shortcut to allow Android tablet owners easier access to my site. Even though that's all it is, don't hesitate to download it so you can check out thousands of apps that you may not have found before!

I'm open to any comments or suggestions on how the app itself can be expanded and improved. Please feel free to let me know!

when you click games on your page, there needs to be an option to show more then 6 games on a page, not gonna surf though 37 pages.

I can see the need to get more page views but in my many years on the web, never found a banner add that paid well. unless its a vendor that pays up front.

check out viglink, a steady constant income and not a single banner in my forum, just some hidden code that tracks clicks.

Thanks, 350x. The idea behind having a lower number of apps per page is to keep a fast surfing experience possible for users. I've been considering raising the number of apps per page over the past couple of weeks anyways, after I completed load tests, etc. Thank you for your input and suggestions, and honestly, chances are that you'll see the number of apps per category page increase very soon.
