Hey yes yes I know its junk but its my first.
ok heres the dirt
model M729
Android ver. 4.0.3
kernel 3.0.8
build number 4.0.3 ICS Ver 1.5.1-20121111.085808

any basic root for it?

Unknown non-branded tablet from unknown manufacturer. Might be no chance of rooting it. Have you tried any of the generic exploit and rooting tools, like SuperOneClick, Unrevoked or Androot?

I too have this tablet (yes i agree, crappy) but I want to root as well, have u tried any from what mikedt suggested?

i have the same model but my sprint carrier hotspot will not connect with this model. how do you get internet with your carrier or sprint carrier issues with this model? need help?

Crappy WiFi is a frequent issue with these "MID" cheapo tablets due to poor quality. Usually there's not a lot that can be done about it, except RMA for refund or replacement. Hopefully the replacement might be better.
