Default Kocaso M1070

Hi all, newbie here so go easy with me please.

Basically I am looking for some feedback from the more knowledgeable here.

I managed to get what I consider to be a reasonable deal on a Kocaso M1070 and it is currently on its way to me therefore I have not tried it yet.

I understand it is a fairly new model which was only released around November 2012 and I am finding it very difficult to check any reviews from existing users of this device.

From what I have read the specification seem to be fairly good and that is what tempted me to buy it but I would really like to here from the more knowledgeable and even current owners of this particular device so I know what to expect.

Below are the specification for the Kocaso M1070:

Rockchip RK3066 Dual-core Cortex-A9@1.5GHz, OpenGL ES 2.0
16:10 Capacitive multi-touch screen 1280 x 800 pixels
1GB DDR3 RAM
10.1" High resulotion IPS screen
Front Facing 0.3MP and Rear Facing 2.0MP
Built-in Microphone
Runtime 5-6 hours
Bluetooth 3.0
High Capacity Battery 6600mAh
8GB Memory
4 way G-Sensor
WiFi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n
Support external 3G module dongle
HDMI Output

I look forward to any comments others have please.

Just a quick update to report my initial feedback and a few benchmark tests I performed on my Kocaso M1070 and I'm looking for some feedback from others please.

I have had a little play with it and I must say so far it has been amazing.

The Rockchip RK3066 Dual-core Cortex-A9@1.5GHz appears very fast indeed.

The screen also seems very impressive and I also thought a 10.1" Capacitive 10 point IPS touch screen with resolution of 1280 x 800 was quite good but I am open to correction.

The battery life seems good with at least 6 hours browsing and watching. With gaming I get over 4 hours.

Wifi is also good and I have been all over the house and even in the garden with the lowest it has been is 2 signal bars opposed to its highest of 4.

Sound is reasonable, bluetooth is fine and HDMI works well.

Cameras are fine too although I do not care for these as I will not be using them so much.

From what I can find out Kocaso is an American outfit with a fair few different models of tablets but my device is from a UK supplier with 1 year warranty.

Now for the benchmark scores, first with an app called Antutu and my Kocaso M1070 came in with a score of 11,298.

Next test was with an app from Vellamo and the scores for my device were HTML5 Score = 1,457 and Metal Score = 492

Are these decent scores?

Many thanks in advance for any replies.

I have a m1070 and only have a few complaints
#1 terrible speakers, luckily it has Bluetooth so you can use Bluetooth speakers.
#2 cameras are pretty bad
#3 I haven't been able to install my paid version of fruit ninja because of the current installed version.

I am really happy with the tablet, these complaints are worth living with for now.

It's quite difficult to get good sound out of a 1 inch speaker. Same with just about all of them. OK for spoken word, not good for music though IMO.

Most of the cheapo devices have cameras ranging from mediocre to downright crap. Probably OK for something like Instagram though, or drunken party Facebook pics, not much else.

Is that a pre-installed "free" ad-supported version and can't be removed without rooting?

You are correct, it is a preinstalled app and can't be removed without rooting.

The speaker would be ok if it was on the front or top, other people can here it better than the one viewing.

The camera is just terrible in low light which is not a big deal, you look like a tool taking pictures with a tablet anyway.
